West Ham have scored a lot of goals, I'm a bit worried. We'll need our famous 10 minute clinical blitz to see them off after looking inferior for 80 mins and probably conceding first.

Ole really needs to find a way to properly link our midfield and attack. We always look like we can't get the ball forward properly. Maybe Bruno playing a bit deeper with donny playing the box to box role would help. While the wide players move further inside to support ronny. Ball retention needs to be improved too. Last night needs to be watched back and learnt from. Performances like that will see Ole out of a job

Bruno playing deeper would be a disaster. He’s probably the worst culprit for giving the ball away. That’s why we need him up the pitch as when something does come off, it’s a goal or an assist.

Rice and Soucek vs our midfield :nervous:

    Really hope McTominay is back.

I don't mean too deep. But as a no10 hes supposed to be that link between the cms and the striker. We lose the ball before it even gets to him sometimes. We need to address the midfield issue until we get the adequate players brought into it

    Give us a crushing win.

4231: de Gea, Wan-Bisakka, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo.

Really need to bounce back strong here to get past the Young Boys result and keep some level of momentum going. Think we will. 2-0 United. Greenwood and Ronaldo.

Money Mase to carry another win on his back. Wonder how far away McTominay is from full fitness.

Their best player Antonio misses the game though, so that's a plus. The midfield battle will probably still be lost though (shock) as Rice and Soucek will probably have too much for us in there.

They are in Zagreb on Thursday night, presumably get back on Friday.

    Antonio out.

Would be really annoying if we don’t win this.

Really important game now. We've not started this season well at all - 1 great performance against Leeds, 1 decent performance against Newcastle and 3 poor performances in our other games. We don't just need a win this weekend, we need a performance as well. We need to show that we're ready to challenge this season. A defeat would put serious question marks over our ability to challenge for the title. A strong performance could blow away the cobwebs.

For me, we cannot pair Pogba with Fred in this game at the base of midfield, that would be reckless. While WH are not great in possession, they have a couple of fighters in midfield with Soucek and Rice. I would go with the following

    DDG
    AWB - Maguire - Varane - Shaw
    Fred - Matic/VDB
    Sancho - Bruno - Pogba
    Ronaldo
Neither Matic nor VDB are great options to be honest, that's what we have. At least this means Pogba can drift into the middle and make a midfield 3 when Bruno makes forward runs, stops us being outnumbered there. Greenwood for Sancho is a toss up. I want Sancho to get more minutes, but obviously Greenwood is in great form.

Agree. We will be fresher. They won’t have their best attacker. We should be fired up.

If we don’t win, that’s going to be a very bad result

Antonio is missing because of that late red card, so that'll be a huge miss for them.

This will be a tough game, West Ham have started strong.

Do we know when injured players are back roughly? Didn't know when Mctom is due back? I think Rashford is out for another 6/7 weeks still...

West Ham is playing Europa league on Thursday, I guess they wont field a strong team but some first teamers will certainly play.
Won't field a strong team? So they're going to rest players in Europa so that they can focus on the league and try to qualify for Europa again next season where they again will rest players so that they can focus on the league? I don't get this logic.

West Ham’s main threat is suspended, and they have 2 days less rest, so we should take this comfortably. 3-0 I think.

I don't know, I'm just guessing. Maybe they'll field a weaker team cause they think it's enough to win against Dinamo. Even better for my local team. And if they field the strongest team good for United. Maybe they want top 4. :)

I feel we will eventually evolve into a team that relies on Ronaldo to compensate for our lack of tactical nous.

Do we stand a decent chance of beating West Ham if Ronaldo starts on the bench? I highly doubt it.

Have to bounce back with a win here. Not confident though, we’ve been poor for weeks.

We beat them 3 times last year without him.

Feel this will be actually quite comfortable, we're generally good when perception starts to turn & Antonio is a huge loss for them.

We play these lot back to back don't we? A few days later in the cup.

They're in good form so far. Joint 2nd top scorers in the league, and haven't lost a game. Antonio missing is good news for us, but we should be beating them either way if we're gunning for the title.

"I guess we were tired from Tuesday playing on astro turf with 10 men, it was a long away trip, just couldn't get going. Credit to West Ham, they played really well. On to the next one."
That´s just pathetic. You know that, right?

This will be a physical game, we need McT back. Or Matic in the midfield with Fred. Pogba on the left, Greenwood on the right.

Who's their backup striker without Antonio? Haller has already left, isn't he?
Yarmalenko and lanzini are on the bench. Pretty sure they pushed bowen further up last time he was out though and hsd Lingard and fornals behind him

Not sure what to expect but the toxicity will be unbearable if they fail to win.
Toxicity, ? No, More people will agree that Ole isn't the man for the job and his days will be numbered

    Toxicity was Jose .

I see this as them being due a loss, given they’re West Ham.
