Kicking starmer out will probably give the party a sign of how much of this is Starmer and how much is politics breaking from the norm. I don't think Starmer leaving will get labour back to 25% (as an example). After that is going to have to be messaging and laying the groundwork for tactical voting.
My doomer belief is that labour would probably be more comfortable with a minority Reform government than actually harnessing tactical voting. I hope i'm wrong.

Odd choices… Gordon Brown who admitted in a BBC interview he didn’t understand that global economics was so entangled (presumably talking about syndication) and sold our gold at rock bottom.
And Harman who said there shouldn’t be a further inquiry with wider scope into grooming gang scandal.

Brown arguably the best prime minister we’ve had this century. Him and Darling basically led the global fallout from the 08 crash.
Selling the gold had broad economic consensus at the time - redistribute the value in the gold to better assets. It was a totally fair thing to do, but in hindsight was definitely the wrong move.
Not sure it was that well backed but yes, definitely some pro sellers at the time and some positives from it (national debt down).
But decision itself aside… pre announcing it (driving price down) then getting BoE to limit gold sales (driving price up), felt odd to most people I worked with in banking at the time.

Labour's losses in London have continued. They have lost half their councillors in Lambeth and Southwark. Those councils are NOC now, but the Greens are likely to run them in coalition.

Well the good thing was, a majority is a mandate, which they got nowhere near.
And you can't have a vote until the result is entirely predictable. It's a vote to start a new country, not a temporary 4 year try at a new country. If the country were surveyed over ten years, and the results were a steady and reliable 65% in favour throughout, then you do it. It's not a thing to be done in a flippant moment, like Brexit.
