Cup holders v a National League North (that's tier 3 in the pyramid) team?

Risk of a Cupset?
Well we only beat Bridgewater by 1-0 a couple of years back and we made that look like hard work, so nothing's ruled out. Let's just say it would be really disappointing.

Match will be live on the Women's FA Cup YouTube channel and FA player.

This all probably goes with saying, but someone should probably say it anyway:

1. I don't fancy WBA's chances of scoring against our defense.

2. If they park the bus, which seems likely, I'm not sure how much I like our chances of scoring. Fortunately though, given #1 above, we shouldn't need more than one.

3. I'd feel a lot better about it with a healthy, re-energized Ella Toone on the field. (But then, I'd feel a lot better about everything with a healthy, re-energized Ella Toone on the field.)

At this point last season we were playing worse than we are now and still managed to put four or five goals past a heavily backed tier two Newcastle side.

There's always the danger of complacency of course, but this really should be a walk in the park.

I'd be delighted to see Ella back, and I'd like to see Emma Watson get another run out as well.

Arrived in Leigh and was not prepared for how covered in snow today everything still is! North Stand is shut so it will be bums on very chilly seats indeed!

Can't work out that front four at all! Just a case of chuck all the strikers on, someone will score? Or maybe even 4-1-3-2?
Something like this perhaps -

PTJ
Jayde-Maya-Millie-Gabby
DJ
Geyse-Hinata-Leah
Mel-Teri

Five defenders, one midfielder and four forwards.

The most experimental formation ever by Skinner (according to the Utd app). Not sure that’s correct in reality. Seeing a lot of the ball and should be 1-0 up already.

Nice goal from Malard but we needed it. They needed it as well - very early for their keeper to have a lie down

It's all United as we would expect, and barring a speculative long range effort West Brom have offered nothing. How we're not two or three up by now is anyone's guess, there's and element of a training game about this.

I think the problem is that with this lineup/formation, we have lots of scorers on the field but no playmakers. IMHO we're one Ella Toone away from solving this. If she gets the 30 minutes that Skinner suggested, it will be really interesting to see if/how the nature of the attack changes.

Something I've observed is when we make a sub, the player going off is walking off the field even before their number is up on the board. It's all pre-planned, never a response to events on the field.

Substitutes changed the game, with five goals in quick succession, all of them from the subs. Tooney with a typical banger for the fourth and a hat trick from supersub Williams.

I was planning a post-game essay about how poor it is that we only won 1-0... For now, I'm not going to grumble before I hit the road!!

I've no idea what that starting line-up/formation was, but we've been calling for players to get minutes, so can't grumble.

Sandberg was excellent when she came on, as, obviously, were Williams, Bizet and Toone. No Clinton in the squad - have I missed something?

@jojojo - I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread or not, but the 5th round draw is tonight at 18.30 GMT. It's live on the FA YouTube channel.

Thanks for the heads-up!
Most welcome. There are quite a few 'minnows' left in the draw, and for some reason there are still 4th round matches to play. I've no idea why they weren't completed at the weekend, unless the grounds were unfit due to snow.

Yes, several ties were postponed on account of the weather. Makes you grateful for the undersoil heating at LSV.

Six fixtures in total were postponed due to weather/pitch conditions.

It's another good draw. Telford is indeed a 'proper' ground and holds 6300, so we should get a decent allocation. I won't be able to make it, but I'm sure you'll enjoy your day out.
