Bridgwater are currently in fourth place in the Southern Premier League - that's the tier below the WSL Championship.

You can expect to see a serious piece of team rotation for this game. It will be the start of a tough week for the squad - we play Chelsea in the WSL Cup semifinal next Wednesday and Arsenal in the league on the Saturday. Even so, I'm expecting us to take no chances - going out of the Cup would be annoying as well as embarrassing.

Bridgwater's women's team history goes back further than ours though - they were formed in 1990 and have played under a variety of names. However they're best known as Yeovil - a club that was still in WSL1 the year that United formed its women's team. They went bankrupt when WSL1 went full-time pro and didn't just get relegated, they weren't allowed to play it the Championship either.

They survived and now have new management, new name, new ground - and will have a sellout crowd of 2500, complete with extra catering facilities and a fanzone on Sunday :D

For anyone who's seen the recent goings on at Coventry United, Yeovil were given a points deduction in WSL just for warning they might go into administration. They never actually did but got the deduction anyway that basically relegated them.

No worries
Marc Skinner's gone for a strong line-up against Bridgewater United:

Of the starting XI, there's only really Jones and Fuso who haven't had a lot of game time so far this season. Just one academy player on the bench too with Solksjaer. Martha Harris returns to the squad, and Diane Caldwell is on the bench as well.

The game isn't televised, but for those in the UK there's radio commentary on BBC Radio Somerset.

Glad to see Ole's daughter make the first team even though she is on the bench and there is live radio broadcast from BBC Radio Sommerset online

Listening to radio coverage does bring back memories of listening to football like this and glad to hear we are leading after a Hayley Ladd goal

OGS sat a couple of rows behind me. As gracious as ever, lots of autographs and photos going on!

Looked like Ladd who scored. We've been all over them for most of the half, without quite having the sharpness to close the deal in front of goal. Toone has missed a couple of decent chances. So still only 1-0 at HT

According to the radio commentary we really struggled to get our passing game going on a poor pitch but really glad we are through. Shame we couldn't watch it. If it had been the mens FA Cup, I'm sure it would have been on.

Good performance from Bridgwater, they defended well, the keeper had a good match - great positioning and anticipation from her. Also impressive that they were still focused and moving well even after 90 minutes. The home fans loved it and with any luck it'll be a real boost to their women's team going forward.

United did not have a great day. Had the ball most of the time, but not many shots on target and the passing was less than sharp. Also on the attacking side we seemed to have several loose ball in the box moments where it was hard to believe that no one was going to be able to get a shot away, but came to nothing. We're through though, and that's always going to matter over anything else.

It's a fair comment about the pitch - it's not the kind of surface that lends itself to precision or ball to feet play. It looked excellent compared to a lot of non-league grounds though, but the grass was kind of clumpy and it looked like any bouncing ball had a mind of its own :D
