If the club can sign a CB with the requisite attributes along with Jack Grealish, then we'll have done really well in the current climate IMO. We also need a DM and striker but those positions can wait for now because the club isn't gonna spend more than a 100m net in the summer, if that.

Right,

Pickup donnarumma on free (agent ibra will set it up)
Buy Grealish. Offer tuanzabe, they love him + 60m
But Milenkovic for 20m (konate would be first choice IF his clause is active for 40m)
Bring Dalot back to cover for AWB
Sell Lingard 20m, Jones 5m, James 18m, Williams 10m, Chong 5m, Andreas P 5m, loan out DeGea and pay 50% of his wages

Take lindelof to a field and shoot him before turning him into glue, which will be the most disappointing glue you can buy, won’t stick sometimes when you need it to

net spend 13m, so it could be increased a bit to get konate instead or a few extra to secure grealish

do a deal for Haaland to join following summer, offset by selling Martial

Milenkovic won't cost more than 20m, according to reports due to him being in the last year of his contract come the summer.

50m plus Tuanzebe for Grealish would be a great deal potentially. The Villa manager Dean Smith rates Tuanzebe too, which will help. But i'd expect a CM to replace Pogba of the creative type. Grealish for me would be a upgrade on Rashford.

We need players with balls. They don't need to be big names. They just need to be hungry for a win and not afraid to go after it. It's about valuing what you have and most of our current lot don't know the first thing about value.

It's a fecking problem when your best defender doesn't stay fit for more than a few games and the other CB is leaky. Ole should have used the Tuanzebe lad from the start of the season and not be so stingy with him. Am so disappointed with the result today man, i thought well was over the worst of the defensive lapses.

We need to go for Haaland as our #1 priority.

I’m not part of the group who want us to buy one 20 year old right winger or another to put along with the 18 year old right winger we just got. Diallo should have a proper chance at that role first, everything suggests that he is a talent of the very highest order.

Konaté at the back, along with the return of Laird.

And Lord please bring me Frenkie De Jong!

We can sell Martial if we can get Haaland, Lingard, Pereira, Dalot, James, Williams, Chong and Tuanzebe - which should raise a fair amount of funds without hurting us at all as these players have added little or nothing this season anyway.

Inter Milan are reportedly skint which will affect our selling market, as I’d have seen them as realistic suitors for Martial. PSG could be a potential destination for him though, as Pochettino is a known admirer and they have a few quid. Other than that, could see us getting:

Lingard - 10m
Pereira - 10m
Dalot - 10m
Williams - 10m
James - 15m
Tuanzebe
Chong - 2.5m

There’s potentially 50-60m in sales in this squad without even getting to Martial or Pogba, who could probably raise 100m if we could find buyers. If Pogba won’t sign he must be sold, although he would need replacing, and preferably with someone who can really play football - not just some runner and chaser. These aren’t cheap, will likely need a swap. I wouldn’t mid Valverde from Real if it came down to it. We won’t be bringing more than 4 players into the first team squad I can’t imagine, if that even.

Time to add a keeper to the list.

Sigh.

DM, playmaking CM, attacking RB, Keeper and RW. Hopefully some of our own fill those positions.

Issue is the fat contract De Gea is on till 2023.
We are probably the worst club at identifying the right time to sell a player. Maybe we should just play Henderson into some form and sell him at a decent value and then go for a young ball playing keeper to rotate with DDG. If Henderson isn't a top keeper in the making as seems to be the case.

We need a left sided player more than a right sided one IMO. I'm happy with Mason and Amad Diallo (who is naturally the correct player for the role) for the role on the right.

I want to see either Grealish or Sancho come in to challenge Rashford for the role on the left.

Forget the forward stuff quite frankly we need to sort out our defence first, 30 goals conceded this early is diabolical for a team trying to get into the top four let alone looking to challenge for the league.

That would be the best Summer ever in the last 10 years. But who are you kidding? you have Ed as United 'negotiator'. He'd need 10 windows to get those done.

Nothing too crazy I reckon.
A CB, a RW will immediately improve us, but these two must be able to slot right into the starting 11.

A RB to rotate with AWB and maybe a DM, we can have Dalot or Williams there though, and we have the numbers in midfield, could probably squeeze another season out of Matic if played in selective games.

GK can wait, Henderson has the talents to be given a chance to prove himself.

Martial is one who might need to be replaced.

Why would we offer anything to Milan for Donnarumma he is free agent in Summer.
If Villa were amenable to Sale of Grealish for 65 m he would already be United player because we would be lucky to get around 15 m for Tuanzebe and I don't think Villa would be interested anyway.
Milenkovic for 35m is 15 m too much with his contract in last year

And you are quite optimistic with your transfer fees for our Sales as well we won't be getting anywhere near that to honest.

Anybody sanctioning that should be fired immediately Swapping minimum 40-50m asset in form of Pogba for free agent Donnarumma is definitely a sackable offence.

Glaringly obvious defence in the form of a physical pacey centreback will be bought as a priority.

Backup needed to challenge AWB who for me needs pressure like Shaw has on his place to, guard against complacency which I think he's shown a lot this season in areas of his game. What's the young lad Laird like? Heard a few mention him now.

Goalkeeper we have Henderson waiting patiently for De Geas next bout of brain farts, the parry to Docoure last night was terrible.

Striker needed, have to try and get Haaland in early before others pounce, Martial doesn't do it for me and his lethargy in his movement stagnates our attack.

I think itl be a tricky window, getting the prioritys right being the biggest challenge. We know we're slow in the transfer windows but it's vital if we sell Pogba too, we act quickly.

For me Konate if that £40m clause is true, is a must it needs to be sorted ASAP.

If Pogbas sold , then a central replacement who fits our system, can the money be used to snare Grealish, or De Jong with Barcas money problems.

Then I'd say Haaland. No explanation needed.

I can't see us doing more than three deals as we're so slow at tying deals up, so would hope Laird and Diallo come through to solve depth at RB and RW.

Oh I am calm and had no intention of causing any offence either ,your idea of rebuild is actually quite doable if we think about it and it could actually be done with zero net spend as well if we include proceeds from Pogba sale.

It could also allow us to use whatever budget we have for summer without sales to be spend on DM or another CB or even RW as we see fit depending on how Diallo and Greenwood progress .

20m would be even better, though I still love konate if his clause is really 40m. But I must admit that I like the idea of a big tough Serbian at the heart of defence rather than a fanny

I can’t help but feel we could do with a right nasty bastard at the back, someone who knows how to win, and has a winners mentality.

If you count our back 5 as De Gea, AWB, Maguire, Lindelof & Shaw I think they are all probably too nice. We are quite soft in that area, irregardless of ability. I think we really missed a trick not going in for Ruben Dias. He’s totally transformed City. Not sure who to suggest but I think this is a priorit

Midfield - I think McTominay & Bruno are certs, and Pogba should be the third if he stays. Zero issues there, and Donny/Fred can provide depth (I wouldn’t be surprised if Matic is let go in the summer), with Hannibal, Garner etc hopefully pushing through.

I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if we try to move on Martial. I think it’s clear we want a proper 9. Cavani has obviously done brilliantly and I’d expect us to be in the mix for Haaland - I think if Haaland stays at Dortmund this summer we’ll go after Sancho, but if he leaves this summer we’ll go after him. I wouldn’t be against or surprised if we went for someone like Danny Ings as rotation if we go after Sancho. He’ll only have 1 year left on his contract in the summer and he’ll probably push for a move to a CL club.

Fair enough, my apologies. In my revised post I have it down to 13m net spend without selling Pogba. I also haven’t taken into account releasing mata and potentially matic to free up more wages. The Pogba money if we sold him I’d buy Rice, I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I’d need him in my formation as I’d play grealish deeper in a Rui Costa role running the ball forward from deep.
he could also be used further forward if we need to beef the midfield up

Sounds knee jerk but I’m finally admitting a keeper is necessary. I wish Dave the best and God knows he’s not short of cash but I do think a fresh start somewhere else is best for him.

One new CB to compliment Maguire.

A Carrick type no.6.

A CF.

And a Jack Grealish in a pear tree.

Wherever my wife tells me to be.
The whole spine needs sorting.

The goalkeeper situation needs to be addressed.

Partner for Maguire.

Partner for Mctominay (assuming Pogba goes)

A real number 9. Maybe Cavani can do a job for the next 18 months, but Haaland needs to be on the list.

This is exactly what I've been saying.

De Gea, Maguire, AWB need to be replaced, a DM and RW also brought in.

Now I realise how diffiecult replacing the first three would be given the financial outlays, but this post is aspirational rather than realistic.

Absolutely nonsense, its Lindelof that needs to go, to small, slow and really not good, get a commanding CB and that'll help everyone, OK DDG should go too

In:
CB - De Ligt (swapped for Pogba)
RB - Ricardo Pereira/Trippier, I really like Justin but no chance we get him.
DM - Soucek (Lingard plus cash)
CM - Ward Prowse
LW - Grealish
ST - Haaland/Daka
GK: Promote Henderson and buy a new no.2, bring back Johnston or Heaton

Out:
Pogba (as good as he might be playing now he gives me Ozil vibes, upping his effort to secure his last big contract)
Lingard
Jones
De Gea
Lindelof
Martial
Matic (don't mind giving him another year tbh)
Pereira
Dalot
James (loan)

Don't mind most of these suggestions except for Ward Prowse. Outside of his set pieces he's a pretty average footballer and not really an upgrade on what we have in midfield IMO.

You do realise we bought DVB don't you? You talk like Pogba has been amazing for his entire time at United.
Neithertheless, statically Ward Proswe has been one of the best midfielders in the league for the past 2 years, distance covered, pass completion, set pieces, tackles.

I only need to read one of your threads for a real laugh..

He's similar to Fred, annoying, high energy but much better passing range and going forward, he could sit in a two or as a box to box player. The fact that he's so good at set pieces, it tends to overshadow the rest of his game
