He will see out his contract in Madrid and then move to the States for a final big pay day. The guy has a fantastic life over there, if it was me I'd probably do exactly the same thing.
I’ve lost a lot of respect for Bale to be honest. He has wasted the last 2/3 years of his career. I realise he’s on a mega contract, of which no other club in the world will pay him, but there is more to life than money. He’s earnt millions and will still earn millions. To see him sit on the bench for 2 more years will be such a waste of his career. This should be a big lesson to the elite clubs.I expect his footballing career is over bar International games and he'll stay in Madrid for 2 more years collecting tens of millions and retire.
I can't even imagine how great it must feel being on 600k for 3-4 years doing nothing but training sessions and no pressure whatsoever. The dude is using Madrid like a fitness club subscription while getting paid a fortune. And has all the time to chase hobbies and do whatever the feck he likes. I don't feel sad for him, I feel jealous! He will see out his contract in Madrid and then move to the States for a final big pay day. Why? He has achieved everything he could in his career and if he has got bored and frustrated with football then who can blame him to just enjoy his life and pick up a massive pay check? I'd do the same if I could and I suspect most people would.I’ve lost a lot of respect for Bale to be honest. He has waste the last 2/3 years of his career. He said he doesn't watch football but I think he's still a fan.Hasn't he said before he isn't even a fan of/doesn't really like football? He's just good at it. He'll probably just collect his megabucks for 2 more years then retire. Doubt he'll kick a ball again at club level.

He would have gone to China if Real didn't pull out? Not really up to him.I’ve lost a lot of respect for Bale to be honest. He has waste the last 2/3 years of his career. What do you mean a waste of career? The dude's won everything there is at a club level. He was part of the team to win 3 CLs back-to-back, a feat unlikely to be repeated in our times. He is in the history books for all good reasons too. Does anyone point at Ronaldinho and say he wasted his career because he was done (at top level) by the age of 30?I’ve lost a lot of respect for Bale to be honest. He hasn’t wasted the last 2/3 years, he’s won 2 champions leagues and scored an over head kick in the final for one of those in that time hasn’t he?I’ve lost a lot of respect for Bale to be honest. Just imagine if someone was doing that to us though? Why? He has achieved everything he could in his career and if he has got bored and frustrated with football then who can blame him to just enjoy his life and pick up a massive pay check? I'd do the same if I could and I suspect most people would.
You could argue that Sanchez has been doing the same thing to Utd but has been much worse.Just imagine if someone was doing that to us though?
Yeah being Welsh, he is probably a rugger bugger.Hasn't he said before he isn't even a fan of/doesn't really like football? He's just good at it. He'll probably just collect his megabucks for 2 more years then retire. Doubt he'll kick a ball again at club level.

Sanchez left on loan and is willing to take a pay cut to play. Ole also did not ostracise Sanchez. Just let him know he wasn't first choice. You could argue that Sanchez has been doing the same thing to Utd but has been much worse.
Not really I'll remember him as the guy who scored a bicycle kick in the Champions League final. His fellow countrymen will remember him as the guy who got them to a semi-final in the EurosLets be honest he did waste 2 or 3 years. Ok he won all he could but he'll be remembered more of his golf impersonations and sitting on the bench than some great player although he had all the tools to be one of the best. Of course Madrid can only blame themselves and I get it, he's rinsing them for the last little penny and rightly so. He's not that fussed about football and he doesn't mind sitting on the bench and doesn't want a new challenge but realistically he wasted a good part of his career. Not that is some kind of criticism - for all of those who'll have a urge to defend him.
That too but that's about it.Not really I'll remember him as the guy who scored a bicycle kick in the Champions League final. His fellow countrymen will remember him as the guy who got them to a semi-final in the Euros
It's still a pretty big achievement, he might even be remembered more fondly in Wales than Giggs. That too but that's about it.
As for Wales of course, he'll be treated as an all time great. It's still a pretty big achievement, he might even be remembered more fondly in Wales than Giggs.
I agree, although it doesn’t seem to be the popular opinion on here. Retiring with 50 million in the bank and retiring with 65 million in the bank are the same thing. It’s a lot of money but it adds no actual benefit to his life, he will just die with more money in the bank.I’ve lost a lot of respect for Bale to be honest. Hilarious isn’t it. He has made unbelievable sacrifices to get to where he is and basically not had downtime, not truly, since his mid teens. What I find bizarre in this criticism of Bale, is that the majority of people (like 99.999%) never busted a gut to get anywhere near the top of their profession. Never showed that hunger, attitude, desire and dedication a pro footballer has to show to get to the very top. They choose to coast through life, because it's obviously easier. And there ain't nothing wrong with that either.
But when they see somebody who was competing at the very top of their profession for a good 10 years and then seemed to have lost the drive, they "lost respect" for him or "think he's a disgrace". Like, pipe down lad
That's indeed a bit unnecessary and unprofessional towards his employer, especially if he's decided to stay.It is said that there will be no public in la liga until January, so surely the club will have to ask for another pay cut.
His signing is more than amortized, so letting him go for free could be an option, but from what Barnett has said recently he wants to stay.
If he stays, I hope he will assume his situation, without playing the idiot on the bench
Just because he’s done well to get where he is doesn’t give him the right to sit there and do nothing now. In any other profession he would be sacked for not doing his job properly. I appreciate Real are largely to blame for this but make them pay out some of his contract and move on.What I find bizarre in this criticism of Bale, is that the majority of people (like 99.999%) never busted a gut to get anywhere near the top of their profession.
