Messi and the next Messi
Ronaldo and the next Ronaldo.

In all seriousness, Tierney and Aldeweireld,
CM - Kroos and Veratti are a no-go. Savic is too similar to Pogba. No clue about anyone else.
RB - I don't think we will get anyone. It will be between Valencia and TFM. Ashley Young also to provide cover.
And maybe a second choice defensive midfielder as cover for Matic.

I don't think we will be in for Sandro. If we do sell Shaw and buy Sandro, the narrative of Jose not trusting youth will become even stronger. The optics of selling Shaw and replacing him with another young British talent will be more palatable to Jose and the club itself.

My personal choices are:

LB: Sandro or Tierney. (Think Mou prefers Sandro
CB: Alderwiereld or Varane or Umtiti (Spurs may sell Alderwiereld for about 40m. It'll be great if get Varane though. As for Umtiti, he's trying to get a better contract at Barca imo)
CM: Jorginho, Seri or Fred (I think we need two as Carrick & Fellaini are leaving in the summer and I'm not sure about Herrera's future either)
RM: Willian But Chelsea won't sell, so Mahrez

We should use Valencia and Fosu Mensah at RB and buy a new RB in 2019 summer. Think 2018/19 will be Valencia's last season at United. He'll be 34 come August 2019.

If we believe what we read and Mourinho is looking at bringing in 4 players who would you go for.

Mine would be:-

Sandro
Umtiti
Savic
Leon Bailey
The problem being that Savic and Bailey do not fix our problems going forward. Sandro may help by having the consistency on the left, but in my opinion 4 isn’t enough. We need 5/6

1. Tierney;
2. Verrati ;
3. Dendoncker;
4. De Ligt;
... if I go full muppet mode we need then also,
5. Meunier;
6. Pulisic.

Alderweirald CB
Sandro LB
Kimmich RB
Kroos CM
Bale AM

OK, I know that's five but we can probably get Bale for a knockdown price (plus Woody would love him)

Messi and Neymar would most likely end up as wing backs or converted into full backs unfortunately.
...................De Gea.................
.......Jones......Bailly....Rojo........
Messi.....Veratti...Pogba...Neymar
.....Sanchez...Lukaku...Ronaldo

not sure I see jose doing that... but Id bloody love it if he did

Seri - surely Bailly can pursued a fellow Ivorian.

Leon Bailey
Tierney
Alderweireld - Levy will demand at least £75 million for him so not sure Woody will pay that

  1. A first choice, top tier LB.
  2. A complementary central midfielder - defensively diligent, quick along the ground, relatively good under the press.
  3. A first choice, top tier RB.
  4. Misc. -- An actual right wing winger, or another central midfielder (assuming Pereira is sold alongside Fellaini and Carrick departing).
In order of preference.

1-A) Bonucci
1-B) Chiellini

2-A) Pjanic / Eriksen
2-B) Jorginho

3-A) Sandro
3-B) Tiernay

4-A) Mahrez
4-B) Bale

Extra fire power from the right.
Better dead ball specialists.
Enable Pogba free reign final third, deep playmaker added to get the ball into him further up the pitch.
Defensive experience to lead to back four.
Left back with width.

I actually can’t quite work out whether this is serious or not. As in is this something you genuinely believe is realistic or what you’d dream happens? Because neither really make sense :’)

Thomas Meuiner
Alex Sandro
Toni Kroos (obviously this would never happen but somebody who essentially replaces what a good Carrick gave us)
Toby Aldeweireld

Probably in that order, too. I rate our defenders highly, and they get far too much stick, however Bailly, Jones and Rojo just can't be relied upon in terms of fitness and I'd send Lindelof packing. Alderweireld would be a good fit for us.

Valencia and Shaw have had forgettable seasons for different reasons and it's clear to me that these positions needs properly sorting - so I'd do a City and go 'all out'.

Of course, midfield has been an issue at times, however with the return of Pereira (who needs a proper shot), and improved Herrera and Matic and Pogba, only one arrival is needed. Fellaini can go - I don't really care either way.

I'd love a left footed winger that could play all across the front. A Leroy Sane type, if you will. Been saying it for bloody years now. But given that we've bought Sanchez and Martial should be playing every week, I'm quite happy with our attacking options given Mourinho can actually sort out how we play going forward - again I'm not convinced of that in the slightest.

I think that it's the +400m€ that you spent.
Yes.....but forum never asked who i would sell. :-) I would sell lukaku, Sanchez, shaw, smalling or jones and lingard to fund it - 200/250 mill? Crazy I know but they don't fit our team and better cashing in now than squeezing them in the wrong positions and selling them for peanuts in 3,4 years.
All I want is a system and players to fit that system. How else do we achieve this?

100% a big left back signing.
Quite likely a midfielder capable of starting 80-90% of games.

Those 2 signings alone would make a big difference, as long as Sanchez and Pogba look more themselves.

Savic would according to the following videos & other reports give us the Fellaini-options for long-balls while being a box to box player that scores goals & goes for through balls.
Would be the perfect player to pair with Pogba & Matic as he's good physically, works hard to cover for Pogba and adds a 2nd passer and finisher for the final third.

Alderweireld
Kroos
Sessegnon
Douglas Costa

Then these could be doable
De Gea
Valencia - Alderweireld - Bailly - Sessegnon/Young
Matic
Kroos - Pogba
Sanchez/Costa - - - - - - - - Martial/Rashford
Lukaku

Against lower-sides or when we need to gamble:

De Gea
Valencia - Alderweireld - Bailly - Sessegnon/Young
Kroos - Pogba/Matic
Costa - - - Sanchez - - - Martial
Lukaku

You can buy any player you want, but if Jose wants us to play with slow transitions (defence to attack), then it won't make a difference.
Jose needs to teach our players to attack fast.
With this in mind, I wouldn't mind Mahrez and Vardy who already know how to transition quickly from defence to attack.
Hopefully, these 2 can teach our current batch of players how to attack quickly, without fear.
Imagine us breaking with Mahrez, Lukaku and Sanchez :drool:
Vardy would be a great option to come off the bench, if the game is deadlocked.

P.Pogba also needs to learn to spring fast attacks. Jose needs to get this guy creating fast attacks, from defensive positions. Pogba, lately is playing as if he is sedated!

Personally, I believe that our current squad is good enough to play attractive football and get 2nd place.
To compete for the league though, we'd need to bring in a Galactico, who plays like a Galactico, when he arrives. Kroos would be great. We shall also require a high quality LB and RW, who are in their prime (mid 20s). And possibly a backup striker.

We need not 4 but 5 players which should be: CM x 2, RB, LB, RW. I know it's not realistic but still;
  • Alex Sandro for LB
  • Sidibe for RB
  • Verratti for CM
  • Milinkovic-Savic or someone like Kovacic for CM who is great at carrying the ball out of defence to attack with his dribbling(if we think SMS is too similar to Pogba and want something different and he would be way cheaper than SMS imo)
  • Malcom for RW

I hope your right, after all it’s just my opinion regarding the transfers. He is a quality player. I still think we need 5/6 just for strength in depth purposes. Hopefully TFM can give us another option and possibly Pereira (who knows) but if they can’t come into the fold next season I feel we lack some additional quality if we have injuries.

Although saying that, too many transfers will disrupt the team even more but then again could be good for a fresh start. Who knows, I’m starting to babble now, let’s leave it to the manager :lol:

1) Mahrez
2) Ndidi
3) Tierney
4) Alderweireld or someone with ability and a brain to play alongside Smalling.
