1) Majority of the dross out both ability/performance/attitude wise. There are over 15, but 10-12 out at least
2) Seven In - LB, CB, RB, DM, CM, RW, CF
This is why I feel we should steer clear of any of these big name signings of £70m+ this sumemr like Kane, Rice, DeJong, Nunez, etc if we do have a nudget of around £200m, any such signing batters out ability to make the required number of signings. We have to compensate for maybe missing out on the best option for the overall progression and growth of the team this summer.
We have to find the next ones on the line on the cusp of breaking through at reasonable prices. At the same time we cant just make value signings, they have to have quality and the right mentality. They do have to still compete and improve our first eleven. We improve the quality of the first eleven and squad we are then in a position to make a big signing or two next summer.
Been a few names I am not sure actually improve on what we already have and want to get rid of and a whole host of players I dont even know.
Two names now off of the potential list which is sad is Livaramento with his injury and Caqueret after siging a new contract, think both were quality players around £30m that already improved on what we had with a lot of room for growth.
i havent seen enough football in leagues such as Holland to know many of the lesser known players we are gettign linked with. Only really watch the big sides bar the French league the last couple of years.
Some of the names I have seen enough of to think we should be con sidering in terms of ability, intelligence, attitude and value woul dbe:
Gusto
Kamara
Bissouma
Doku
Ekitike
All players I think would be £25m or under and we need 4/5 of those type of signings.
Think we need 4/5 signings of that ilk anyway.
If we are to make big signings, then they should be £45-60m, dont know Timber, Antony well enough, not seen a huge amount but not massively impressed with Nunez.
I really like Fofana but feel it would take a Maguire like fee, the three names stand out for me purely in terms of being on the cusp of big things, not at huge clubs and with world class potential ability and all young, would have to be
Sulemana
Gvardiol
Giouri
Would personally prefer anyu of those over names like Nkunku at the same price
