What's the plan for the 22 day break? (March 22 - April 11)

In a&e for the last 24 hours, so not dying, hopefully.

Find De Ligt who was last seen on November 30th. Oh and that Mount fella has gone missing again also.
Third broken player from Bayern.

Anyway, players should be on Carrington every day, maintain fitness, work on passing and similar stuff.
Some games behind closed doors. Ideal would be reserve 11 who sits deep against starting 11.
Players need to keep focus, we that CL football next year.

I thought there were some friendlies abroad being arranged. Did I just imagine this?
Pretty sure Carrick was asked this in a recent presser and he basically said options were being looked at, but nothing finalised at that point. Sounded like he didn't know exactly what was going on himself.

I'd let the players go on holiday for a few days in all honesty. Next year will (hopefully) be jam packed so they might as well make the most of it. Especially with the world cup in the summer.

They should rather have a training camp. Be together, bond, but mainly improve and get better. There is a great chance to get top 4 and we really need to get this

Ahhh, ok. Wonder when a Middle East friendly would get scheduled?
Has this been confirmed? We planning a Middle East visit. Hope they come to UAE instead of Saudi

Edit: Just googled and saw some news headlines of middle east plans being binned

Could it be sense prevails and the on pitch matters are being given priority over commercial reasons for once?

Well my missus is probably going to make me do stuff around the house and look after our child.

feck sake

For us fans, it's very boring to go 11 days without a match now. I really miss the European nights and matches.

But for Carrick and the team, I think the "break" comes at a perfect time. The staff now know the players and the team - strengths & weaknesses. They know where to push and where to work with different areas in / out of possession. It should give us a great opportunity to be sharp and ready for the next three matches. Before another 11 day break.
Trying to find the positive in this low number of matches this season..

Last few weeks been so exciting, even a week break feels like too long.
I wish uncle Jim find any sheik to pay us 50M to play few friendlies during these Feb/March breaks.

A friendly against one of the other PL sides knocked out of the cup wouldn't be the worst idea. The likes of Mazraoui, Heaven, Malacia, Ugarte could do with some extra game time.

I made Chinese copy of Lego Technic Porche car also known as Tfnic consisting of 1600 pieces.

unce case posting from Miami (jetlag and long travels) Yoro and Heaven in Dubai. Aren’t we supposed to use this time to reflect and train harder for upcoming matches? Or do we reward them for losing to a fourth tier division or to Brighton at home. Shocking.

Real pity you haven't watched any matches since that Brighton game. There's been some crackers. You should watch them if you can.

Not about outperforming in league games. But having a holiday because u had stinkers in league cups or UCL should not be rewarded. These slots should be filled regardless and not treated as a holiday. Going to Miami from Manchester for a weekend is outrageous.

Why is it not about "outperforming in league games."? I'd like more of the same between now and the end of the season.

Anyway, can you think of something that might have changed - which has nothing to do with the players - since the bad results that bother you so much?

We have got 11 players that can barely play one game a week. 60mins we have to take off Case and Maguire due to fitness. We almost lost to Fulham due to fitness (Ugarte shouldn’t have came on), Tottenham game took us too long to score the second, West ham we got exposed with the fact that we cant control the ball and score from open play that is not a counter attack. We got so much to work on and a holiday is the last thing I can think of now.

That's why Case is leaving at the end of the season and the reason most believe Maguire should only stay on at reduced wages or go elsewhere. But that's two players. Oh, and Maguire's only on because DeLigt got injured.

This isn’t about singling out Maguire or Casemiro as individuals, it’s about the principle. Flying to Miami on a free weekend — something we only know about because it was posted publicly — raises a broader question about professionalism and recovery. Long-haul travel takes a physical toll, and if a player is already struggling physically, that time would arguably be better spent recovering properly and working in-house on strength and conditioning. We’re entering a crucial period where we need consistency and results, so marginal gains matter.

Celebrating four wins and a draw as if we’ve achieved something extraordinary also reflects lowered standards. A club of this stature shouldn’t treat a short run of form as overachievement. The bar has to remain higher.

I don't begrudge this. I take a trip here and there when I can and I am fully refreshed after it. I suppose as long as they don't over indulge too much they be fine.

Would it not be better for the team to go on a light training camp (to maintain fitness) at a golf resort and do a bit of team building rather than letting them all go and do what they want with no oversight in the middle of the season?

EDIT: Doesn’t have to be a golf resort, just an example of an activity

Maguire went to Iceland, so that he can come back and feel England is hot and warm.

I would run away to hot places to be honest but i think he wants to see the northern lights.

Absolutely - as I said, as long as they didn't over indulge on drinking etc..

I agree it's not ideal and hopefully they were responsible and it won't effect them on the pitch.

Not so much when you fly in a private jet which is what I assume most of the players would be doing, those "long-haul" flights take as much time overall as the ones the rest of us plebs take to get to Spain etc

He's probably over in miami to talk about his new contract details there, view the stadium/facilities etc. Bring the missus along to look at housing possibilities, schools etc.
Can't do that in the summer. Too rushed.

Come on.. Tight Jim ain’t going to pay for that.

Must admit don't like that we've let them all go on holiday in a light game season. It shouldn't even be on Carrick has he has limited authority as an interim, the club should have set the standard.

One of the good things of the Amorim tenure was the improvement in professional standards I hope we aren't going to slack off now. I'm sure the players love it but it's not good long term.
