City, they seem unstoppable at the moment.
There is no need to be so condescending. I said almost 3/4 of the season. 7 more games is hardly far off. That season was an anamoly. You need to check your maths. 21/38 isn’t 3/4 of the season.
We lost a league title on GD when 8 points clear with 5 games to go.
I don't mean it in any condescending way but it is way off when it's 2 games past half the season. Saying there's almost half a season left is way closer to the truth than 1/4 and it's definitely early for "it's over for the rest of the league" even if City beat liverpoo. They went from looking quite shaky and spent to playing at their very best. It's not like the opposite can't happen again. There is no need to be so condescending. Essentially, what you're saying here is that 58% isn't far off 75%. In most contexts that's a ridiculous claim and this is one of those contexts. There is no need to be so condescending. I said almost 3/4 of the season. 7 more games is hardly far off. That season was an anamoly.
Don't think it gets more exciting than the 18/19 title race to be honest, unless you only consider it interesting if it's with more than 2 teams.City will win against Liverpool on Sunday and seal the title. It's a shame because apart from them the race is wide open this year with all the big teams constantly losing random matches they shouldn't lose. Could've been one of the most entertaining title races in years.
There wasn't enough twists and turns in that race. It was just two ridiculously efficient winning robots battling.Don't think it gets more exciting than the 18/19 title race to be honest, unless you only consider it interesting if it's with more than 2 teams.
Definitely the bolded part. Also, while 18/19 was tense till the end, as @Judas said it didn`t really have a lot of twist and turns. City overtook you when you drew with Everton (I think?) and from that on it was a robotesque winning streak from both teams up until the end.Don't think it gets more exciting than the 18/19 title race to be honest, unless you only consider it interesting if it's with more than 2 teams.
Probably the worst close title race of all time and that is me trying to ignore the two teams that were in it.Don't think it gets more exciting than the 18/19 title race to be honest, unless you only consider it interesting if it's with more than 2 teams.
Well yeah, if you only consider it an interesting title race when there's multiple teams involved and lots of twists and turns, you'll only get those every so often because one twist too much to one side and your whole title race altogether is dead in the water. Agreed with your original post in that case, I don't think this one will be interesting because no one will keep up with City's consistency. They'll just gradually increase the gap imo.Definitely the bolded part. Also, while 18/19 was tense till the end, as @Judas said it didn`t really have a lot of twist and turns. Not only, just "more" interesting. 18/19 was great but still pretty much straight forward I thought, 13/14 for example had more twists. The rare occasions when >2 teams are involved are the best in my opinion.Well yeah, if you only consider it an interesting title race when there's multiple teams involved and lots of twists and turns, you'll only get those every so often because one twist too much to one side and your whole title race altogether is dead in the water. I don't know the exact way that it went in 18/19 anymore, but I think we had a lot of our games before City did, so we always put pressure on them to keep winning their own games.
They have the surest footing to build on though in that their defence is rock solid. Not just in terms of clean sheets but pretty much any underlying stat you want to look at. And if one of their CBs gets injured they have Laporte (arguably perceived as their best defender before the start of the season) to come in.Just a quick reminder what the table looked like after 11 games:
Not saying City are going to implode like Spurs did, but it's clearly far from over. Not a single team this season has seemed invulnerable to dips in form.
Hate to point it out, but all you're demonstrating is how insanely efficient City have been since then. It's going to take a collapse beyond anything we've seen in years/an injury crisis at the back for City not to walk it from here on out. They're on a different level right now.Just a quick reminder what the table looked like after 11 games:

Would say the leicester one was most interesting last 6-7 years. Of course you had the fairytale aspect of it and likes of Arsenal and Man. City were still hovering around mid March before both fell away. Spurs then came in with a great run and looked likely to push things to the final game but they then drew a couple and that was it and Leicester won it by 8-9 points in the end incredibly but the gap was pretty small in that February as it is now.Not only, just "more" interesting. 18/19 was great but still pretty much straight forward I thought, 13/14 for example had more twists. Thought that was rather a case of "will Leicester keep it up or will they crumble" rather than an actual title race. Memory could be tricking me but I don't think Spurs ever were close to overtaking them.Would say the leicester one was most interesting last 6-7 years. Same but for reasons stated earlier we're in the minority. It was an absolute quality race with several moments like Kompany's goal. I'm sure Liverpool had some last gasp victories in that time frame too.Don't think it gets more exciting than the 18/19 title race to be honest, unless you only consider it interesting if it's with more than 2 teams.
Arsenal beat Leicester 2-1 on 14th Feb 2016 and were 2 points off them at that stage as were Spurs, Man. City 6 back.Thought that was rather a case of "will Leicester keep it up or will they crumble" rather than an actual title race. Ah fair enough then, that was quite close late in the season indeed. Also this from a few weeks later, I presume given Spurs would've gone top if they'd won their 28th game they bottled it and lost but they were right on Leicester until late April of that season.
Edit: Lost 1-0 at West Ham.
Yeah, the 2014 title race was brilliant. Shame it had to involve those two.Not only, just "more" interesting. 18/19 was great but still pretty much straight forward I thought, 13/14 for example had more twists. The rare occasions when >2 teams are involved are the best in my opinion.
While that would be nice, we never win at Anfield and probably never will. Though this is probably our best chance in yonks we couldn't win there when they were a midtable team.City will win against Liverpool on Sunday and seal the title. As a city fan that run in was ridiculous. Every game you knew it had to be a win because Liverpool were not going to drop a single point, the definition of pressure. I understand it wasn't that great for other supporters but it sure was for us, especially the Leicester game when it looked all over a draw.Well yeah, if you only consider it an interesting title race when there's multiple teams involved and lots of twists and turns, you'll only get those every so often because one twist too much to one side and your whole title race altogether is dead in the water. If there was ever a time to bag a win a Anfield this is it.While that would be nice, we never win at Anfield and probably never will. Though this is probably our best chance in yonks we couldn't win there when they were a midtable team.
