I’ll take France. I can’t believe the defending champs who have Benzema and Mbappe are all the way down at 4.5% in this poll.
People are scared that Rabiot-Tchamounei will be poor in midfield but they're defensively strong and mobile for their size so while it might look a bit pedestrian, it's still the best back 7 in the tournament to get through and fullbacks can't risk attacking with Mbappe and Dembele on the wings, and Griezmann is always one of the better defensive players in international tournaments as a hard-working 10.

If you're in a big office pool where everyone will have Argentina and Brazil, I think they're a great pick. On paper they have the best first XI, we know they can defend (Lucas-Kounde-Upamecano-Pavard looks formidable defensively unless Upamecano makes the massive error he does still have in him at this stage of his career). So yeah, I think their football will be fairly ugly in the knockouts (weak group and with that speed out wide teams will double a lot and there will be space for Pavard, Lucas, Rabiot and Tchouameni to contribute in the attack with crosses and long shots, but maybe less so in the knockouts).

Favorites to win the title:

Tier 1: Argentina & Brazil
Tier 2: Spain, Denmark, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium
Tier 3: Uruguay, Croatia, Switzerland, England, Serbia, Germany
Tier 4: Senegal, Canada, Poland, Mexico, Wales, Japan, USA, Cameroon, Morocco
Tier 5: Ghana, Iran, Saudi-Arabia, South korea, Australia, Costa Rica, Qatar, Tunisia, Ecuador

My heart says Denmark or Netherlands.
My brain says Argentina or Brazil.

I have a feeling, that France, Germany and England might disappoint and crash out before the Quarterfinals. All three have high quality in their squads, but I don´t see a finished team. Belgium seems to have lost a step as well at the moment.

I put a small button on Argentina.

No clear big favourite for me. Many teams can win.

Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany.

France have some injury with Kante, Nkunu and Pogba. France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and Netherlands are a group under those 4 teams above.

I think its biggest chance that one of the team in first mention will win.

Think it's inevitable Argentina play Netherlands in the quarters, and that game could go either way. But i really think the Netherlands are being slept on. They've been great with Van Gaal, and will have crazy motivation due to Van Gaals situation as well. Also think their general balance is excellent.

Brazil, Portugal, France, Belgium, England will all fall against one of the better/more progressively coached teams.

Surprised not many have selected France, given the wealth of attacking talent Brazil have i'd be surprised if they don't at least get to the semi's, but I do wonder if they'll struggle defensively. Argentina will be close as they have some top players again and maybe Messi will be inspired enough in his final (?) World Cup.

I went with Brazil but it could be any of those three. I'd be surprised if anybody else won it.

Benzrma and Mbappe have been underwhelming as a duo. And this team is far different from the team that won in Russia. Entire new midfield and generally poor results in 2022.

They may go far but they are not favorites at all.

Have you even seen brackets?

Brazil and Argentina are supposed to meet in semi-finals (if Brazil passes Germany) so Brazil 1, Argentina 2 is not really possible :D

Their squad is stacked, to be fair. But the team with the best players doesn't always win it.
Same problem with Argentina. Both of these teams have great players but both of them have very questionable coaches and the teams don't feel well drilled.

Don’t see the European teams doing well. For the first time in a long time. Voted Brazil, may or may not be the best team overall but they have enough to out score everyone else. England to fall out in Round of 16, lack of goals, creativity and energy .

Louis van Gaal is still my fav manager post Fergie, by far.
Netherland will be the darkhorse.

The heat can be a factor for European teams though.

Could not not click Germany, even though I think it's highly unlikely.

Not surprised that almost everyone is going for Argentina and Brazil as they are also the bookmakers' favourites but I still have strong doubts about South American teams. Tactically, they are still suspect against European teams. Everytime they face a top European team in a knockout stage, they get knocked out. Also when was the last time a hot favourite actually won the World Cup? 2002 to 2018, every country that won was the outsider. I'm going with Die Mannschaft. They flopped in 2018 and with no pressure on them and Flick in charge, I expect them to make their usual semi-final and then anything can happen from there.

I can't see it being Argentina. For all the talk, aside from 2014, they haven't done much on the world stage in decades. To be fair, neither did Spain.

World Cup winner's curse. And have you checked out their injury record? Kante, Pogba out. Even Benzema is a doubt. I have doubt they might even qualify from their group.

Smart money is Brazil. Can see Spain doing well. The press will make the English boys feel guilty about the prospect of winning it. Can definitely see the fix for Messi to shine this turd of a WC publicity wise.

To be honest, my opinion of Brazil is just name value hype. They get hyped every world cup. They had the same manager the last world cup when they lost to Belgium who was nowhere near the best. I don't see anything to suggest they've changed drastically and are now as good as the European elite.

It wasn't an issue for Germany in Brazil, and it wasn't an issue for Spain and Netherlands in South Africa neither.

Spain in 2010 were surely favourites?
