It’s great. I’d love to see a United end do it. feck the nonce protectors.
Royalty as a concept is not politically neutral.William is a Tory guy. Seems to have a revolving door of Tory staff. Whatever happened to royals being politically neutral?
Im all for protesting against the establishment especially the royals but if you are to protest at least let everyone know why. It seems everyone including the media are just posting guesses. oh ummm something about Thatcher and Hillsborough and mistreatment of the city of Liverpool. All good but come out and do it properly
What are you on about. There has been numerous protest for generations- against the Iraq war, against brexit, Hillsborough and on and on. People didnt just walk around randomly booing. They said - this is why we are protesting.Yeah because protest has always been embraced and explained fully by the lackeys of the establishment you are protesting against?
Very few protests have control of the narrative unfortunately. It's mostly proactively shut down.
They're not randomly booing though. What are you on about. There has been numerous protest for generations- against the Iraq war, against brexit, Hillsborough and on and on. People didnt just walk around randomly booing. They said - this is why we are protesting.
What's the punchline?Title of the OP sounds like the set up to a joke.
People are just discussing it. Why his everyone with an opinion a snowflake these days?Who cares? Scotland fans loudly booed 'God Save the Queen' in the Euros last year. The same tournament saw England fans booing national anthems of their opposition left, right and centre. It's a nothing issue ramped up by snowflakes on both sides of the political spectrum.
Care to elaborate? Or are we not worthy of your wisdom? If I were to call you stupid I'd be an ass, but if you were to call yourself stupid you wouldn't. Tough concept to crack, but I hope this example helps you get it.
I’m not anti booing either. It has always been done at England games and it had always been done in a fun, not aggressive or personal.Booing your own anthem is much more acceptable than booing someone elses I reckon.
And I am someone who thinks booing a song isn't that big of a deal anyway, especially something as silly as a "national anthem" at a football match.
Criticising people for booing. Then agreeing with people for booing. That’s inconsistent. How is that inconsistent?
It’s even more ridiculous than that, the sparkly hat had its own car and then took pride of place on a table, sat on its own cushion because, heaven forbid, someone can’t read out a speech written by someone else without it being there. The other day Prince Charles rode in an expensive car alongside a hat with over 400 jewels in that is priceless from a house worth 2.5 billion and people can't afford heating and food might have something to do with it maybe
I mean they have. Loads of times. It just didn’t get any press. It’s great. I’d love to see a United end do it. feck the nonce protectors.
I just don't think the subject of booing a national anthem is worthy of discussion at all. It's common knowledge Liverpool fans aren't fond of England and what England represents (and I must add for more than legitimate reasons), the same way it's common knowledge that England fans who follow England religiously aren't the brightest set of proverbial LED bulbs. Let them have a bit of fun.People are just discussing it. Why his everyone with an opinion a snowflake these days?
Our fans belted out the 'once more than England, world champions twice' chant all the way from Wembley Park to Baker Street the last time we won the FA Cup. I'm not English, I joined in, nothing malicious, it was good fun.I mean they have. Loads of times. It just didn’t get any press.
What's the punchline?
I would never boo it, but at the same time I'd never sing it. It's meaningless crap to me.Imagine booing your own national anthem
People are just discussing it. Why his everyone with an opinion a snowflake these days?
It's not common knowledge if people are wondering about 'random booing'.I just don't think the subject of booing a national anthem is worthy of discussion at all. It's common knowledge Liverpool fans aren't fond of England and what England represents (and I must add for more than legitimate reasons), the same way it's common knowledge that England fans who follow England religiously aren't the brightest set of proverbial LED bulbs. Let them have a bit of fun.
The only time booing is not on, for me at least, is when fans boo players kneeling for racism or during a minute's silence. The rest is fair game.
You need to go to Leeds if you really think that. I actually really like Leeds' team atm which is very confusing because they have the scummiest fans that ever scummed. They were also booing ‘Abide with me’.
Let’s not pretend this was some intellectually informed anti-establishment protest. They’re mindless ****s who believe the world is against them, and therefore boo when others are singing, drunkenly heckle acts on stage thinking they’re being smart and harass people at bars on holiday.
It’s simply what they do, and it’s why they are the most hated club amongst fans in England.
pretty much , the concept seems to belong in history books nowI didn't knew Brits were angered with their Crown. I had the idea they liked their royal stuff.
Truth be said, no monarchy should exist on these days... Spanish, Dutch (with Argentine queen) or British they are all leeches TBH.
Used to be great (Britain), still not bad…Feck the Royals? The King/Queen is the head of the CoE and the human embodiment of the Land. The UK would disappear in a couple of weeks without the Royals…
Agreed im a manchester united fan but i back liverpool on this the royal family is massively corrupted only insects with 6 legs have queens at the end of the dayI would too, feck that national anthem and that family.
So only 12.5% actually careHalf of them are Irish. Same as as the caf.
Half the half that aren't Irish are anti establishment.
Half the half that aren't Irish and arent anti establishment don't care.
Manchester has plenty of Union flags and buntings, Liverpool is the odd one out.If You travel from the South coast of England to the northwest of England You will notice that from the South coast onwards there is red white & blue bunting everywhere and Union Jacks all over the place. As You travel north You will notice that the bunting and flags slowly fade away until You get to the north west where You don't really see it anymore. Just an observation which may go some way to explaining the thread title
