Why Do We Go With Collective Bargaining?

It seems we are selling ourselves well short in regards TV Rights. The money we make is easy money for the Glazers but for so called businessmen they seem to be missing the bigger picture.

We have a global fan base reported at 650 Million. We also have our own TV channel. We would only have to stream our home games on a PPV basis & it would dwarf what we currently receive from Sky & BT.

It's magnanimous on our part to enable the smaller teams to have a bigger share. At what point do we decide to look after our own interests.
To play in the Premier league the rules state all clubs get equal tv / media revenue. We would be kicked out if we said we wanted to keep all our money, which would defeat the object.

You do realise that if the big clubs had done what you are suggesting when the Premiership formed, it wouldn't be the all powerful league it became. It was best thing that clubs like Man Utd lost. Otherwise, we would probably like boring leagues like Germany, France, Italy & co, & no doubt trying to form a super league.

I think a much better question is why don't the other 18 teams in the Spanish top division tell Real and Barca to feck off and play with each other unless they agree to collective bargaining. There would only be one winner, well 18 I suppose.
This is true of many leagues, & can never understand why the majority don't give these so called big clubs in the league an ultimatum. There would only be one winner.

La Liga changed their structure two seasons ago that gave the rest of the teams more money but to answer your questions, who would pay to watch those teams without Real or Barca in the package?
Chicken and egg though. The current situation stems from the failure to more evenly share TV money over the last 15 years. The other clubs missed their opportunity to use their colllective bargaining power at the point when TV revenue began to explode. The big two were always the most marketable assets, but they were only two of perhaps five genuine title candidates each year. That’s when the league and its clubs should have grasped the opportunity of rising TV income to ensure that strength in depth and competitiveness was sustained into the future. Their failure to do so cost the league it’s place at the top of the game and it’s clubs billions in lost revenue.

Indeed, Real and Barca. Any league in Europe will bend over backwards to have them in their league.

If you can't be successful, at least aspire to try and make the other teams not so successful. Like total domination, and we get to buy all the best players. Imagine one day we might literally be in a league of our own.

Not quite sure why folks think that the TV deal is split equally because that’s just not the case.

Man City in 2018/19 were paid just shy of £150 million whereas Huddersfield received £98 million. This season, due to changes the gap between top and bottom will grow.

Don't sign old players and cast offs

That's a good point, but bear in mind the premier league is democratic, each member has one vote on it's rules, and all votes are as valuable as each other,

Don't know why Ole is prolonging things and not playing Gomes in place of Pereira or Mata. They are the ones weakening our side when they are on the pitch.

This thread is confusing. What the OP is talking about is NOT collective bargaining. It's revenue sharing. Unless I'm missing something...
