Why is our passing so garbage?

I considered bumping this last week to give us credit for actually passing the football like a competent team against Arsenal. But I thought I'd like to see us do it twice in a row before I flirt with the idea we might actually have improved.

Watching today, turns out we still can't retain possession of a football.

Our passing wasn't garbage at all in the beginning. The problem is we tend to getworse the longer games go on. Another problem is the CBs doing the playmaking which means opposition teams are always fully behind the ball.

Having watched other 'inferior' players pass the ball competently the only conclusion I can draw now is that collectively most of our players need glasses or have concussion and seeing double!

There can be no other explanation for some of the inexplicable passing to a teammate stood 3 yards away, on his own with no pressure, and the ball rolling 5 yards away from him. If you think im exaggerating just go back and watch our games again, its truly breathtakingly stupid.

it's garbage because it's slow, it's slow because we hardly press well as a team, so once we get the ball, all the gaps are already closed. We rely on technically brilliant players like Cunha, to keep the ball under pressure or beat a man, to create opening and new angles are created.

If the pressing is better, the game is way more open to execute passes, but yeah we are also way more open like today, we were bypassed with ease because Bruno and Casemiro moving way too slow..

This is a wing back dependent system, Dorgu and Dalot are our players who will have most of the ball. How they play impacts the entire team.

And they are both pretty crap. Incredible to play a system that is so dependable on world class wide backs and we have feck all there

Arsenal did press or take up space like Fulham did.

It's still the core of our problem.

I hope we don't get distracted by talk of systems, two in midfield etc.
