Think this result has bought him some extra time regardless of the next two now. He's probably just bought himself the January window.

Based on all Woodward’s talk I think I he could lose next two now and still keep his job.

Wishful thinking . Anyway you massively underestimate the emotional impact a single loss against a lower team has on supporters. So no a draw against Pool can't buy immunity (if we go) through two weeks of mediocrity talk less of the 2 months till January

We must follow up with 2 wins against Norwich and Bournemouth. Chelsea won't matter as much.

There's probably a line which he cannot cross just like any other manager and we're 4 points behind Crystal Palace, so... he seriously better start winning matches.

The earlier Caf's predictions about sack before Christmas is still the real possibility.

Woodward is desperate for it to work and although there will be a cut off I think it’s some way off yet. Ole will be saved by fact Woodward won’t have a clue what to do next other than appoint Allegri.

If Poch was to leave Spurs I think it would be very different but Ed will just be keeping his fingers crossed for next few weeks.

Most likely to happen. Ed will do the same and will be presented probably with same results as always, or he can start doing something and maybe prepare a warchest for January if he really want to stick with Ole.

He said 'yes' to Solskjaer in the first place, so it would be close to insane not try and actually help a guy he appointed...

    Ole isn't leaving until December.

Woodward wants to at least save some face and say "I gave him a chance". If Poch is available by December, we'll sign him.

Otherwise, we'll probably have a caretaker (Carrick?) until the end of the season where it's likely we'll get Poch anyways since I don't see him at Spurs next season.

Would you really want Poch though? He isn't pulling any trees up at Spurs right now

There's a good one, trust advance. If I extended my trust in advance would readers put aside ego, to discuss a difficult subject in football.

You would hope that the team can build on this. One thing is Norwich and Bournemouth will try and play some football against us so theyd be games youd think we could win.

OK, put ego's in a box. Man to man marking with a sweeper free is the only way to defend as a team.

I don't think he was in the slightest danger before the Liverpool match, certainly not now.

The rebuild is going to take time, he rightly has the backing of the club to do so. We're not changing our manager this year and nor should we.

Deciding that if we weren't going to score many goals we wouldn't concede many either was a stroke of genius.

Was it not a penalty? Do we not deserve a spot kick for attacking play or is that just for good teams?

Out of curiosity do we top the list of penalties given?

Transfermarkt shows that we're first with 6 received penalties, followed by Liverpool and CP with 3.

    # Club Penalties received Scored Missed Goal rate
    1 [IMG] Manchester United 6 2 4 33,3 %
    2 [IMG] Liverpool FC 3 3 0 100,0 %
    3 [IMG] Crystal Palace 3 3 0 100,0 %
    4 [IMG] Manchester City 2 2 0 100,0 %
    5 [IMG] Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 2 0 100,0 %

That conversion rate though... oof. But let's be honest, most of those pens are well deserved.

E: So much for editing the table, so it would look presentable. For some reason, it looks alright before posting or editing, but horrible within the post itself, I apologise.

Imagine if any of Rashford, Maguire or Lindelof is out with injury against Bournemouth and we lose...

I still think he should have rested more players. Even though it's important with trophies, the chance of getting knocked out of the cup is fairly big considering both Liverpool and City is still in there.

City yeah but I really don't think Liverpool have actually been all that, plus we get them in a semi final in January they have games galore I would fancy us to do them.

Hopefully he has Tuanzebe back for Bournemouth, few of the lads will want to just keep the momentum going, keep playing, keep winning, that result will do so much for the confidence, team spirit, they will be buzzing and hopefully rolling into Bournemouth flying high, hope so anyway.

He doesnt need to have a run. He is back up to injuries and we have players returnig from injury so he has resumed his role in the team. Theres no conspiracy.

As said previously, zonal defence does not work, man for man marking with a sweeper free is the only way to defend as a team.

And I am the only one that can do this.

Yep, hindsight is great. Well done team and Ole. Still believe there will be plenty more challenging times ahead for us.

I don't get it. Why should he get more respect? It is not that people are rude or just bash him for no reason, they rather have been pointing out terrible weaknesses in his team, selection, formation, training etc.

It was a legitimate concern. I don't think there was anything wrong with making the thread.

Maybe, but... With the last win, we went from 15th to 7th. That's how ridiculously hyperbolic some of the reactions and worries are on here. And how close everyone was at that point. Sure, we were mere points out of relegation, but we'd played a stiffer schedule than any of the top six at the time (I actually ran the numbers, not making this up) and had an easier run coming after Pool. All the teams from 5th to 14th are still within four points of each other after 10 games. We knew that players who had been injured during the bad run would be coming back. Just too much overreaction...

We're still 7 points from top 4, and the qualms about the team weren't just from league position. It was about the performance levels and demeanor on top. There is no hyperbole about it.

I'm thrilled we are turning a corner, but we are fully justified in smelling the end of his time 3 games ago, because it couldn't get much worse before a sacking were to happen.

We still struggle to attack at pace and with conviction however its dressed up. Norwich aside when was the last game we looked like we could win a game easily from open play?
