I said I'd post this after the FA Cup Final, so here goes. Let's see if there's any interest.

2025 Women's Euros Competition

Following the success of the WSL Fantasy Football, and with a void to fill before the start of next season, I have come up with a little competition for the Women’s Euros. You do not need any knowledge of the women's game in order to take part, and hopefully the rules and scoring system are fairly straightforward.

I have divided all 16 teams into four pots, based on their UEFA co-efficients rather than their FIFA ones.. You simply pick one team from each pot that you think will progress. Two teams from each group (not from my pots) go through to the Quarter Finals.

The only other thing you need to do is to select three players from any teams, not necessarily your own teams, that you think will score a lot of goals. The number of goals your chosen players score will be added to your points total. You can only choose one from any team. That's it - after that you don't have to do anything else. I do all the calculations and keep you updated.

Points - Group Stage

You get the same number of points as each of your teams get in the group stage.

You get 2 points if your team wins its group.

You get 1 point if your team finishes second in their group.

You get a point for every goal scored by your teams.

Points - Quarter and Semi Finals

You get 2 points if your teams progress

You get a point for every goal scored by your teams.

Points - The Final

The winner of the Euros gets 2 bonus points.

The same rule for goals scored applies.

Penalty shootouts do not count towards any goal tally.

And that's it. All I need from you is a selection of four teams, one from each pot listed below, plus three players who you think will score lots of goals - remember, they must be from different teams and not necessarily teams you have chosen.

Send your choices to me via message and post in the thread that you have entered. The deadline is 30th June, after which I will make public all selections.

I know this is a lengthy post, but I hope it is clear. Any questions, ask in the thread. The Pots will be posted shortly.

Pot 3

Remember, select one from each Pot. Do check the actual Groups first as you don't really want to end up choosing three or four teams that are in the same group!

Sample Entry

1. England
2. Portugal
3. Denmark
4. Wales

1. Russo - Eng
2. Baltimore - Fra
3. Caldentey - Spa

I know the Euros are quite a way off, and there is a round of Nations League matches before that, but I thought I'd give you plenty of time to think about it.

If you do want to enter early, that's fine. You can always change your selection up until the deadline, especially if one of your chosen goalscorers is injured/not selected.

Well, you do have to be able to name 3 players.

This will be fun. I'm in for sure, but not for another few weeks.

I'm fully focused on the World Sevens at the moment (except for one bit of my brain set aside for other activities that might be taking place on Wednesday).

I will return though. At some point. I'm sure. Probably.

Hmmm, well technically you don't, because I've already named three decent ones in the sample! But I take your point.

Of course you will return! In any case, there is no urgency - I just thought I'd put it out there early.

I'm going to wait a little longer to before submitting my entries, but after watching the England-Spain match I think they should just cancel the Euros, give the trophy to Spain, and let all the players take a couple of months off.

Thinking the same.

Should put this thread in the main football forum if you want more interest

It's not MU Women related anyway

There are still 24 days to go and so far there are six entries - Me, Himannv, DJ21, Scanny, Rood and Grande. As expected, none of the selections submitted are the same - neither the teams nor, especially, the goalscorers (16/18 different ones.)

It's a bit of fun. Its easy. It's free. Join in!

I thought it might be useful to pay attention to which teams are in which groups, and since I was sorting this out for myself I figured I might as well share this table with anyone interested. Here are @Demon Barber's pots (copied from above) with each team's group added in parens:

I know the deadline is tomorrow, but I think I am going to be busy most of the day, so decided to post it now.

I will still accept changes due to injuries and new entries up until midnight tomorrow.

As predicted, no two entries are the same - not even the teams selected.

It's early days, but with two crucial matches to go before the end of Matchday 1, Scanny and I lead with 9 points ( thanks to Gonzaléz), a couple on 7 and the rest on 6.

Matchday 1 League Table

Team points followed by goalscorers:

Demon Barber 9 + 3 = 12
Scanny 6 + 4 = 10
Lever 9 + 1 = 10
Himannv 9 + 0 = 9
Rood. 6 + 2 = 8
Grande 6 + 1 = 7
Jojojo 6 + 1 = 7
Lobster11 6 + 0 = 6
DJ21 6 + 0 = 6

If you discover that I have cheated you out of any points, then I'm sure you'll let me know.

Thank you for the update :)

I just want to take a moment to publicly apologize to the players I cursed by choosing them. I didn't mean to, of course, but I really shoulda known.

Matchday 2 League Table

Team points followed by goalscorers:

Demon Barber 15 + 5 = 20
Scanny 13+ 6 = 19
Lever 15 + 3 = 18
Grande 15 + 3 = 18
Himannv 15+ 1 = 16
Rood. 12 + 3 = 15
Jojojo 12 + 2 = 14
Lobster11 12 + 2 = 14
DJ21 12+ 2 = 14

Edit:
I have forgotten to add the number of goals scored by teams to these totals. I'll add those after Matchday 3. Those who have Spain will be laughing!
