It'll set the wildcard for week 3 yes.
But surely means you'll only get the players you have locked for week 2?
Took 20mins pre 10am working on a wildcard, and gone with the below now.

Almost went without all of my original 3 Argie forwards, but in the end stuck with Messi.
And resisted Sarr v Qatar as so much striker choice.
Kane v Messi was tight, and could go either way. At the moment though, Messi is 6 points from his team's 1 goal, and Kane 7 from his team's 6 goals!

So if we have activated the wild card we can still make transfers in preparation of the next game week? It seems you can transfer out players that have already played, e.g it's letting me transfer Noppert.
No-one seems to know.
Some people are talking about how you can transfer 1 locked player out. But not sure what that refers to. As surely you have a minimum of 2 transfers either way?

I've targeted the fixtures as it seems the way to go for the wc.
So I've got players in from England, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Brazil who also have a decent fixture.
France do too but they might rest players as they've already qualified.
Already had double defence v Qatar, and don't really like the forward options, as Messi/Mbappe/Richarlison takes some beating for later in the competition.
Musiala in v Costa Rica,Kudus who smashes points this week, and then Alba, Gavi and Casemiro come in too.
Need to cover the teams who'll go far.
Left Sosa in for Croatia as a 3.5m starter, If I'd had 1m spare rather than 0.5m I might have switched to Saiss. But it's still in Croatia's hands to go through anyway.
Pretty sure we get unlimited transfers after the group games? So I wouldn't worry to much about post group stage planning.
