Think the only games on paper in this round that seem "easy" are Paraguay - France and Argentina - Egypt. The rest are very close and will probably have a few go all the way to pens again.

Canada - Marocco maybe?

Mexico-England and Portugal-Spain could be very good games.

Morocco are on a different level to Canada. Haven’t seen much from the later and don’t expect them to be much of a challenge tonight.

To be fair Canada have been decent, but haven't really played a big team who could dominate them. They do look a lot better with Davies on the pitch, but one player won't help them here.

Morocco should definitely have enough to beat them in 90 mins.

Very curious about Mexico - England game. High altitude, heat and home fans should make it a hell for the English, wonder how they adapt

Bold, Italic predictions :p

Think it will go from here:

Morocco-France
Brazil-England
USA-Spain
Argentina-Switzerland

France-Spain
England-Argentina

Spain-Argentina

Spain

Sadly, 99% sure we (england) are going out this round.

If so, hope Tuchel is sacked on the spot.

Maybe if Tuchel had got his selections right in the first place we’d have stood a much better chance. I can safely say even if we’d made it through to the next round, we’re not winning this tournament.
With Spence, Rashford,Mudeake,Henderson and a partially fit Rice, and a wobbly Pickford we may as well start packing for the flight home now.

Is anyone else starting to properly feel the side effects of staying up for these matches now?

Too old for this

I don't think Argentina v Egypt will be as easy as people think. Egypt made themselves look a lot worse than they actually are by horrible game management. They stupidly let the game become a disjointed dog-fight in the second half against Australia with their own antics, which incidentally suited Australia.

This will be a different game, however, I suspect if Argentina look in trouble at any point, there may be some dodgy ref decisions thrown in to help tip the scales.

Hope we get the Argentina/Brazil semifinal. It'd be absolute madness.

Can’t wait to see Paraguay completely humiliated tonight especially following racist comments from that moron Chilavert

Tell me about it. I feel like I may not make it by the end of tournament

There isn't many more games left though, especially the late ones.

I have similar line of thinking. Like, even if we do beat mexico. It's Brazil and Argentina next. I mean, let's be real.

Hope Morocco dump Canada out but I don't think they're good enough for it to be a formality.

Do you think they've been playing well consistently this tournament then?

Morocco have yeah. They should have put Brazil away in the first half, they beat Scotland without getting out of second gear, easily disposed of Haiti and were the far better team against a decent, if not great, Netherlands side.

I thought they were ropey against Scotland.

Everyone else is predicting so I will too.

Canada - Morocco - 1-2 Aet
Paraguay - France - 0-2
Brazil - Norway - 1-2
Mexico - England - 1-1 Mexico on pens
Portugal - Spain - 1-1 Portugal on pens
USA - Belgium - 2-1
Argentina - Egypt - 3-1
Switzerland - Colombia - 0-0 Switzerland on pens

Feeling very much like a Brazil/Argentina + France/Spain semis...ie what we probably all expected!

Canada - Morocco - 0-4
Paraguay - France - 0-4
Brazil - Norway - 2-1
Mexico - England - 1-2
Portugal - Spain - 1-2
USA - Belgium - 0-2
Argentina - Egypt - 3-1
Switzerland - Colombia - 1-1 Coke on pens

Yeah, Scots should've gotten a draw in that. It's like Morocco did only just enough to win. Probably could have put Scotland away much easier. They dominated Brazil, yet only came away with a draw, almost like they were satisfied. Granted, those were group games, so who knows how they actually are.

The Netherlands game, they took it to them but everyone is killing Koeman for being too conservative and not playing Dutch football.

Think it’ll be something of a formality. Early goal then late pen to seal it kind of thing after some periods of Canadian huff and puff.

Let’s see if I get any of these right. Made a few left field predictions, but don’t think there will be many high scoring games left unless France blow Paraguay out of the water today.

Canada 0-1 Morocco
Paraguay 0-2 France
Brazil 2-2 Norway (Norway on pens)
Mexico 2-1 England
Portugal 1-1 Spain (Portugal on pens)
USA 1-1 Belgium (Belgium on pens)
Argentina 1-0 Egypt
Switzerland 1-2 Colombia

Mazraoui starts vs Canada, though I imagine most expected to

Hope he puts another great performance in

I hope Paraguay can take France to extra time today, would make the Morocco game more interesting if both get through

From a neutral perspective, I was so looking forward to Mexico - England but this WC has been so crazy that you have no idea which games will end up being incredible. They have all become "must watch tv".
Dunno about that. Any Canada game I’ve watched has been dogshit. Hope Morocco rip them apart today.
