Once again, due to time constraints and a lot happening, my views on South Africa, vuvus, baboons stealing my pringles etc are gonna have to be left for the last one...or maybe even one after.

Oh well....Enjoy, hopefully.

'nother good video Pie-man, though at around 1:39 you spelt Uruguay as Uraguay, which is the wrong spelling.

On reflection do you still rank it as the worst England performance you've ever seen? I can think of maybe Macedonia at Old Trafford as another one, I struggle to think of many more. It was terrible, and I don't know why we keep persisting with Heskey. I personally would go 451 next game, Rooney up on his own being supported by Cole and Lennon. Though Joe Cole doesn't seem to be in Capello's favour for some reason, I was extremely surprised and annoyed he wasn't brought on.

I look forward to the next one. We're gonna thrash Slovenia in the next game and then face ze Germans in the last 16. I can feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes.

I meant that I'd seen live....but that probably wasn't obvious...ah well. Cheers anyway lads, much appreciated

...and yes, I'm became aware I'd spelt URGay wrong as soon as I uploaded it....I'm pretty sure Bruce Grobbelaar is too...I can't spell, but i can spiel....or however you spell that :smirk:

I'm very much enjoying this BTW. It's great to get a fans eye view rather than the sanitized crap on TV. It'd be great if you could do more. It's really interesting seeing the fan zones and how the towns look with England flags plastered everywhere.

Thanks for being arsed.

Same here, though watching them does make me really fecking jealous...

Still, at least I didn't pay to watch that England game - that's my small bit of consolation

I'd actually encourage anyone to...even if they hate international football...or even football. Because it's the biggest global sporting event (and probably the biggest event, I can't verify that though) the country hosting it spews out all of it's bitesized culture like a sprinkler in an attempt to be a good host to the world..You therefore see more interesting things than you would on any other random holiday...plus you interact with hundreds of people you never would from all different places, and talk about football with them...Then find a decent area to get pissed in and have a right royal knees up every few days. In fact if you're willing to treck down to some of the bigger fan fests, or stadium venues when other teams are playing, every night. It's a fecking riot honestly. You don't even NEED to get tickets to enjoy it a fair bit, it's almost like going on the lash in a different country every other day if you latch on to whatever fans are about that week..

For all it's football, the Champions League can't top it for atmosphere by a long long way...I'd recommend going to a World Cup to anyone. There are quite a few paddies and jocks out here anyway actually, just on the jolly. There was one particularly drunk and annoying scotsman pesting some Koreans at Joburg airport yesterday with a tanoy..it was hilarious.

Me and a few mates are talking about doing Brazil 2014, whether it actually transpires or not we'll just have to wait and see. But I'll definitely be doing it in 2018 wherever it ends up (Hopefully England), and in 2022 and hopefully others. I'd actually like to do Euro 2012, you been to any Euro's in the past Mockney?

Great stuff Mockney, this stuff feels so much more authentic then the montages we see on TV. Looking forward to more of the same!

Do you do the video editing yourself? They're very nicely put together

You should. I'm sure everyone will bang on about how dangerous it is, but they said that about this place and it's not really ...though they've fecked up a few townships to make it more attractive for sure....Too much rides on WCs for anyone to leave such issues to chance though.

Euros, yes, Portugal in 2004. It's not quite as all encompassing and grand - and I was only there for one game - but on big game days the effect is much the same.

Yep. I'm using iMovie...Macs are bloody brilliant for this type of stuff. Its almost child's play.

Only one more left unfortunately, I fly back day after Slovenia, though I am already scouting for tickets to some other games...

Yep...cheers. I enjoy doing that far more than the filming...I feel like a complete lemon filming during a game but it's gotta be done. I try and limit it as much as I can. A penalty would be nice.

Video editing is an amazingly satisfying experience for some reason! though almost all my experience with it was a media studies project in year 13. Used i movie for that which i also agree is childs play, does it still do teh annoying thing where if you want to go back and move a clip it also moves all the ones in front of it?

no...but it does tend to stick on what you've highlighted about 5 minutes ago, so that when you move your mouse to get to another part of the video, the thing you highlighted for some other reason 5 minutes ago, will then be moved from where you put it to the place you scrolled your mouse to get to....which can be very annoying in musical cuts which can often take a while to get perfect....But I couldn't agree more, editing is a weirdly pleasing pass time.

As is mixing a recording if you ever do that, suppose its seeing all these random parts youve done seperatly becoming what you imagined

I'm thinking about driving an RV to Brazil in 2014 and getting some other fans to share the ride. Take a 3 month leave of absence and have a trip of a lifetime. I can only imagine what the WC party will be like in samba land.

Good idea, I know a few lads who've did exactly that to Germany, and didn't even have tickets....Only advice I'd give is to base yourself in a main buzzing city and travel to and from there. You'll get enough "travel" just going to the games, but it's best to position yourself somewhere buzzing for the intervening days...I'm stuck in a Casino most of the time here, which has it's benefits, and is hotter than most other places...but I wished Id stayed in Cape Town or Joburg, as it's much more buzzy, and you have the continuous traffic of different fans tooing and frooing every day...in fact some of the best banter I've had is at airports, where everyone just mingles and chats bollocks. I can't speak highly enough of Cape Town actually, I found it brilliant....some nice ladies there too!

Smoking/lit cigarette onscreen might be a no-no for some sponsors.

Also, The Museum of 1989 has called about buying your sweatshirt for display.

And if you're superstitious, try not filming the game, or filming it with the camera upside down (you can always 180 it in post) and see if England win.

Retro is the new now.
Scathingly accurate, which is why they have offered no less than two copies of Martika's eponymous album for the sweatshirt in question for an exclusive display entitled: "Like a Virgin"

Hang in there, good sir. England will go through providing Capello can resist Heskey's advances for a week.

Good work mate, I enjoyed watching them both and look forward to the next one.
Accents are the bane of my drunken life...many a time I've walked up to a group of girls and put on an Irish accent for a laugh only to find at least one of them is Irish, and I then have to explain where it is I'm from in Ireland and keep up the ridiculous charade nervously for a prolonged period of time, or admit outright that I'm a cock that puts on accents to impress girls and slink off into the wilderness...Accents are shit. Thankfully I don't have one.

I went to Euro 2004 and the atmosphere pre tournament and during the tournament was incredibly different. Very enjoyable party atmosphere win or lose and despite nearly getting mugged and being started on in every other street because I was English and had a skin head and was wearing a Liverpool shirt it was very very enjoyable. I'm defo going to another international tournament.

Which games Spams?...I was at the dreaded france game...my dad kicked a paving stone on his way out and broke his ankle and it was my mums birthday (we'd booked the tickets before we remembered that and then convinced her a family holiday to portugal was the best present she could wish for)...all in all, terrible game, but I still clapped England off after a better performance than this and found the locals endearing and similarly low key in their expectaions as us (no matter what our media tries to portray)...Int tournaments are unbeatable for atmos, without question. I love 'em.

The club > country brigade can rant all they want...but they're missing out big time, and we know it. And for all the United/Liverpool fan parochialism legends, I've actually seen more United and Liverpool shirts out here at games than any other clubs.

Bill Withers - Use me (Big tune)
Tamba Trio - Mas Que Nada (Big tune in a de aeropuerta)
Samuel Barber - Adagio For Strings (Big tune in a de jungle :nervous:)
Lee Scratch Perry - Jungle Lion (Big tune a rude bwoy ye na)
Jeff Buckley - Halleluja (Big tune to walk into a lake to)
