I'm really looking forward to this. I was a bit skeptical going into it this last year, but it turned out to be great fun for both the fans and the players.
One particular thing I remember from last year is how great Simi Awujo was in that context. Now if only we can figure out how to translate that into the traditional Elevens game....

I did enjoy it last year, and you are right that Awujo was excellent. I think Park will be this year as well.
What I don't like about this year's format is that it is only English teams, and the top two sides are absent. It sort of means we will lose to Chelsea in the final ... again.
At least Sam Kerr will not score against us ... unless she hasn't left by then.

The semifinals begin at 11:00 a.m. (London time) on Saturday, which means 6:00 a.m. (!?) for me. Final is at 2:30.
I'm not generally a binge-watcher of anything, but I'm going to try to watch every match!

Second half, West Ham defended better and started to get more of a rhythm about how to handle rolling subs and so on. I can only put our second half down to a loss of concentration.

Missed all but that last game today so missed United’s goal fest. It’s a fun tournament. Hopefully I’ll catch a little of tomorrow’s games during work breaks tomorrow.

They do get obsessed with that kind of stuff. They're after something to distinguish sevens from normal competition, but it can end up sounding a bit desperate.
Turner gets our third. Ella Toone getting frustrated about not being able to score - but still pleased when someone else does!

Geez, lighten up everybody. The thing that's great about this tournament is that it is so much fun to watch the players having so much fun. The walk-ons and celebrations are a big part of that. And personally I love the idea that there is a kind of informal, secondary competition going on among the clubs over that stuff.
It’s childish and they’d never expect men’s teams to do this.
Half the players look wholly uncomfortable with it too.
The players having fun playing the actual game is what is enjoyable for me.
I agree that it's completely childish and they can make it a casual tournament without making it seem so immature
I don't mind the players playing around. As far as I'm concerned it's their end of season party. A chance for them to play without pressure but with a competition that's worth winning. If they decide to choreograph their walk out or a goal celebration - why not.
It's the commentators commentating on it like they're planning to give them marks for star quality that gets on my nerves. The players are doing 20 second tik tok fun clips for themselves and the fans not preparing for finals night on Strictly.

This is good fun to watch, no one's taking it too seriously which is good.
However, there has been report after report of female players suffering ACL injuries due to overloading their game time, so why play this straight after a long season?
