The transfer window opens in a weeks time & we are yet to sign anyone, ffs!

Glazers not backing Ole, Glazers out, Ole out anyway, EVERYBODY OUT!

To the "Is the Transfer Forum safe to go into yet?" thread.

Begin... :)

Transfer window has been open for over 7 hours and we still haven’t done anything

Seriously though, I hope United have the ambition to get things done early this year. Last year was atrocious, all the business was done on the last day and we missed out on our only target.

If I was in charge of recruitment at United, I would be embarrassed and fired up to make it right

It really says a lot about how the club is run. It is business and financial bottomline for Glazers first, when you consider that we were/are fine with not getting the players that we need to improve us and challenge.

For them Its "OK" / not the end of the world if we dont get our targets for, as the worst that could happen would be a bad outlay for a player, not a squad that can't challenge. The priority is simply money for them and that limits our ambitions on a pure football level.

Got a funny feeling we'll sign some players while also selling some this summer.
We should have done this weeks ago instead of waiting until the end of the season when teams know their circumstances and are more willing to negotiate. The transfer window is already open so it’s far too late now.

I'll probably wait until transfer deadline day for us to sign three last minute deals after spending all summer not signing the actual players we wanted. It's a shame emails and phones don't work any other time of the year than during the transfer window for United because otherwise we could have identified our targets and had deals in place already. Yeah, like that would ever happen...

Write this summer off and start planning for summer 2022, get ahead of the rest.

Lost interest - a summer of haggling with Dortmund beckons for a player who I don’t think is worth the fee. Meanwhile Leicester seem to be snapping up gems at reasonable prices. Edouard, soumare etc. Utd buying and selling over the last 8 years been terrible. True city have a bigger net spend but they also have a cabinet full of trophies to show for it. For our spending - nothing for 4 years......feck sales when you put it like that we really are fooked.

Ole out.
Glazers out.
Woodward out.
We should have signed Sancho, Haaland, Mbappe and got Ronaldo back by now.

I mean look at every other team signing high profile players left, right and centre. We will be left behind.

I mean Leicester have signed no one yet but still they will sign someone so you know, that leaves us behind them too.

Am I doing it right??

I see what you're doing and it's rather gringy. Since Woodward took over, I don't think our club has done anything to brag about transfer-wise. We usually overpay and take very long time with our transfers, far from being effective and efficient. I don't think any fan with reason would want the board to sign all the above mentioned players. Personally, I'd rather we do not pay that amount of money on Sancho and invest it in midfield (DM, CD). The whole Sancho saga has been a joke and embarrassment.

Give over.

The only people who deserve scorn are the people who constantly put down the club for not getting every top player signed straight away, and constantly think other clubs are so much better than us at transfers.

We have had several high profile transfers, not all successful, we have also had some shockers.
But to claim the chase for Sancho is embarrassing is hilarious.

Sancho is a no win situation for some, if United play hard ball and eventually get him at the end of the window for a lower cost it'll be 'why didn't we just get him at the start of the window or last year when we had the chance'...
If we actually stump up the cash Dortmund want then it'll be 'we are over paying, should have negotiated harder'

Sancho/RW is a must along with a defender and another midfielder, we already know that's what United are targeting.

Who else have brought a high profile player so far this window?

Might have had something to do with a few other things that were happening last summer that caused a change. Dunno.

I think he meant to say "We can do things in the transfer market that other clubs wouldn't dream of"

You could have picked pretty much any other team in the league but you picked one of the few teams who actually have signed someone

I'm still waiting for a transfer window similar to the summer of 2007. Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson announced as soon as the season ended. Tevez announced before the start of the PL season. PL and CL winners at the end of the season. That's how we used to roll.

For some to justify the current mechanism, I can understand the sentiment of support. But please don't crucify others for wanting higher standards.

We’ll sign someone for 30 million more than we could have signed them for due to our faffing around then offer Jones a five year 200 thousand a week contract.

I just dont understand why we cannot do our business early. I mean I get some transfers would take longer and sometimes there is a domino effect so a player might become available.

However; we have been in for Sancho for 18 months, why would this need to drag?

Liverpool got their CB early. When they signed Fabs, Allison, done it early and quick.

We just seem to love the media hype of spending 10 weeks for one player and not really filling holes in the squad. Surely they know what areas we need to improve and should be working on deals so they come to the club on the first day of pre season?

For anyone defending Man Utds transfer dealings since Fergie left, I have 2 words for you - Marouane Fellaini.
Mic drop - bye!

You could have put a donkey in shorts and he would have committed less fouls than Fellaini and made more ass-ists................

I wonder what Ed Woodward is going to cook up in his final transfer window as a parting gift. The three amigos again? One last spectacular failure to remember him by.
