Next up - we play the current League leaders, they've got 13 points in 5 games and beat Arsenal a couple of weeks ago. Chelsea won the League/Cup double in 2018 and got to the SF of the Champions League last season. Tough game.

BBC red button/website and on the FA Player

Meanwhile, to take advantage of the gap created by the men's internationals weekend, WSL has decided to have a couple of showpiece games in big stadiums. This time that's Anfield where (bottom of the table) Liverpool women are playing Everton, and at the Spurs stadium where Spurs are playing Arsenal.

Chelsea are back to their brilliant form of two years back it seems. They’ve got an incredibly strong defense with NT keeper Carly Telford, a couple of tough Norwegian centre backs in Maren Mjelde and Maria Thorisdottir, Swedish captain Magdalena Ericsson and Millie Bright all options for the back four. Going forward, Fran Kirby and Ramona Bachmann are two of the most brilliant individual players there is, and Guro Reiten, who scored from her own half against Vålerenga, is a big future prospect.

Tough opponents indeed!

Is anybody else quite impressed with the FA Player?

Edit: actually the sound is a fair bit ahead of the picture

Yeah, the commentary isn't quite synced but otherwise pretty decent, and works with Chromecast.

Anyway, started off with Chelsea looking dangerous, but now we've had a couple of good chances as well. Plenty of action but still 0-0

Lauren James just turned Millie Bright inside out, how Phil Neville doesn’t bring her in to an England is beyond me.

It’s been fairly even, this is our chance to prove we belong in the top tier of this league.

HT 0-0 good half of football. Chelsea the stronger team, and Earps has had a couple of tricky saves to make, but we've played some good football and set up a couple of good chances. James playing well, she's been our most dangerous player.

Ref wanted to give the foul, but not a second yellow to Amy Turner, so he gave Abbie a yellow card instead? Is that the one you mean.
Yeah but the hand on the arm by Turner didn’t warrant a foul and Abbie clearly won the ball. The ref backed himself into a corner with a poor decision.

Enjoyable watch, Chelsea just about shaded it, the technique/game understanding from all the players on view(on both sides) was very impressive. I'd suggest anybody that says Women cant/shouldn't play football get's their hands on a video of the match, you might be pleasantly surprised.

It was a good match to watch - you could see why Chelsea are top of the League, and how tantalisingly close we are to matching the top three. I'm still optimistic about our prospects in the Cups!

Casey wasn't too pleased with the ref at the end of the match though. The players/coaches didn't reckon it was a penalty, and there were a few other calls made/not made that looked like pure guesswork on the ref's part as well.
