It's a real shame that the team's first match at Old Trafford is going to be behind closed doors, but it's still a big milestone. Let's hope next time they play there it'll be in front of a nice big crowd.

Meanwhile let's start off with a win :D

Huge match. Huge milestone. Not just behind closed doors but not being shown anywhere either, which is a shame.

The match is live on FAPlayer - that's free to view, though you do have to register:

I guess it might not be available in every country on FAPlayer (some matches aren't in some countries) but the opening page in the UK says it's available live here.

MUTV don't have the broadcast rights to this one, so they only have it on delay.

Casey complaining about the match not being on TV and explaining why it's not on MUTV - apparently we've already our three match allowance.
"I'm really disappointed that no-one's picked it up. Because the FA have been badgering and badgering about playing at Old Trafford, and now all of a sudden, we can't show it."

It will be live/free on FAPlayer though.

and OT:

Oddly enough, that's apparently the away team dressing room - but it's being used this season (by the men as well) as the home changing room, part of the layout changes for Covid. Curious.

Nice that they've given the dressing room a personal touch for this game only.

Might be wrong but looks like both dressing rooms are being used - Groenen's kit looks like it is in the home one.

HT 0-0

West Ham are playing well, but they're sat at the bottom of the WSL so they really shouldn't be able to cope with us, if we were playing well. If nothing changes in the second half, this match really is anyone's guess.

That said, Casey often does a good job on us at HT, so lets hope she can pull something out of the hat for the second half. Going to be tricky though, it's not obvious who can come on to give us a boost. On the other hand, a bit of magic in front of goal and the whole mood could change.

Half time. We've had some good chances, but West Ham have had chances too. As usual, if you were just listening to commentary, you'd think West Ham were dominating.

That win steadies the ship a bit again.

Looking at the remaining fixtures only Everton can throw us an unlikely Champions League lifeline, if we do end up losing out on goal difference will be a kick in the guts for the girls but if they can use that to drive them on that's a positive. What positions do people think that Casey needs to address in the summer in order to push for that third spot next season. Will admit I don't want every game but from the ones I have seen it feels like we need a better defence in the big 3 games and a prolific striker up front because have missed Russo & Heath massively.

Two of the best through-balls this season, both from Jackie Groenen, the delightful assist for Christen Press' goal and then for the big chance that Lucy Staniforth wasted. Ella Toone looked good on the ball at times, as did Lauren James. I expect a lot more from Katie Zelem, nowhere near enough influence on the match. Central defence was a bit shambolic against the long ball down the middle of the pitch. Maria defended well but careless in possession.

West Ham were very unfortunate to get the red card as neither challenge looked an obvious booking to me and might have won a foul in the build-up to United's 2nd goal.

Weird how the WH keeper was allowed wear a kit so similar to United’s. Odd that it would also be a choice due to the similarity of the background.
