Amazing point. We really are much better than Spurs. Got ourselves into a terrible hole so a point is great.
Another two minutes and we would have won that.

I thought we’d win that, think the ref did us a bit with the extra time and some of the decisions.

A frustrating game but at least some fight was shown after around 60 mins when Rolfo came on, Toone scored on 74 doing well to take her chance as Spurs defence started to tire. Then for the final third of the match we kept attacking and Rolfo got 2 more, credit to Galton for a very nice assist on the last one.
And of course we were unlucky not to score with 3 attempts in the first half but 2 of them were longshots that shouldnt have been expected to go in. But the game would have been completely different if one or more of them had gone in.
Spurs defended well for most of the game and Koga cleared a few off the line but after 70 mins the players were tired and the balls started to drop to our players in good positions, as was the case for Rolfo's first and Toone's volley dropping to her inside the box. Holdt was also good and has been good this season and we should probably make sure we know when her contract is expiring
Despite getting back into the game and getting a point, and Toone coming alive a bit with her goal and some more involvement I think Park was a bit concerning. Yes she did play Galton the pass so she could cross for the equalizer but her shooting decision making and her being quiet for most of the match was dissappointing and now without Bizet to compete for the right wing spot theres really only playing Malard there as an alternative
Edit - Forgot to mention... masked up Tullis-Joyce isnt looking any more reliable than Middleton-Patel was in her absence. Think she could have done better with 2 of the goals. Maybe shes uncomortable under the mask I dont know, but the goalkeeper position looks weak at the moment. Mind you so did the CB position today with Spurs scoring 2 from crosses and the CBs not putting in challenges

What a game to choose for our first Women’s football match! Absolutely outstanding…I’m not sure I agree that the atmosphere was bad though…we loved it and the game! There was only one team that deserved to win and it was United…ref was in the huddle with spurs after their 3rd goal…she was very generous to the spuds all game but super proud of the ladies…never gave up and the crowd was willing that equalizer in by the end…I told the lady next me at 3 - 1 that we are definitely getting a third & we were close to snatching it at the end. Spurs were done.

Well, that was a bit too close for comfort. Points dropped, but Spurs are resurgent under Martin Ho.

I can see why you love ‘em…they have a ton of character…this is a proper United team…
Great to hear that it wasn't a wasted taxi ride.
The one thing guaranteed about the team is that they're fighters. When the TV cameras panned to them afterwards you could see how hard they'd worked to get back into it. But you could also see how frustrated players like Toone and Rolfo looked - they wanted all the points.
I'm glad you got to see an exciting game. My first was in 2018 - 0-0 v Durham, which was annoying because we were winning 9-0, 12-0 and all other kinds of scores in our first season!

First, I have to point out the irony of this post in light of your username.
Second, I am embarrassed to admit that I did the same thing. I thought I had learned my lesson about not giving up on this team since I missed another great comeback some weeks ago, but being down 3-0 after 60+ minutes, on a day that the gods seemed to be against us, was just too much for me and I decided to go do something less painful. I went back and watched the rest of the match after learning about the outcome.
I am SO proud of this team, but am equally ashamed for myself.
I watched through as you learn the most when losing but yeah obviously going 3-0 and not having the luck when we hit the bar at least 3 times (Toone should probably just score at her range) was very frustrating so I can see why some people might turn off. I guess you could say we wore them down defensively as they certainly got tired and things started to fall for easier chances for our players once Rolfo came on and continually got into goalscoring positions. I have some concerns now about the defence and goalkeeper, its not like last season when they were our main strength

Haha you are not wrong!!! What a crazy weekend…me and my lad said after the Sunday game, bet it won’t be another 3 - 3 tomorrow!!! Hard to believe we got to see 14 goals in two games lol…I am absolutely hoarse after that double header too…mad stuff!
