Katie Zelem has moved to West Ham on loan from London City Lionesses. I know she hasn't made many starts for LCL so I guess this is a move she wants.

I saw that rumour. As you say - that would suck. Much as I like our right backs, Ona was and is special and in my mind she's still ours.
Arsenal already have one of the best RBs in the game, so this doesn't make sense to me unless they are concerned about Emily Fox leaving. Everyone wants more depth at every position, of course, but you don't sign Ona Batlle for "depth."

Arsenal just signed the rightback with the highest potential and I doubt it was cheap. Holmberg comes on for Fox and plays like an extra winger taking on players and getting good crosses in. Even if Fox was leaving they're sorted for a starting RB, although multiple competitions obviously leaves room for multiple starting quality players in each position. But where would Fox be going in the first place?
Oh yeah, I forgot about Holmberg. Even more reason to doubt they are also going after Batlle unless....
Fox might be ready to come back to the States -- especially now that the NWSL has introduced the new High-Impact Player rule that recently made Trinity Rodman the highest-paid women's footballer in the world. There's a good chance that, as an elite player, Fox could make more money now in the UWSL than in Europe.

As for City I'm a bit surprised by the high scoreline but not surprised that they're contuing on strongly towards winning the league.

I agree that Chelsea are focused on the CL and probably resigned to "just" finishing top-three in the WSL.
As for City: When you've got Bunny Shaw, Kerolin, Viv Miedema, and Lauren Hemp all on the field at the same time you're gonna score some goals!
Good result for us, though, as catching City for the title is out of reach anyway. Finishing ahead of Chelsea would be a great accomplishment.

I see that Arsenal have decided not to renew Katie McCabe's contract, and that several WSL and NWSL teams are interested in her. I think the style of play in the NWSL would really suit her and hope she comes over here.

McCabe is hard as nails in her tackling and I always thought refs are less likely to let the more physical contact go in the NWSL than the WSL. She’d be sent off every other game.
Well if we're hurt by Ona going to Arsenal, why not a cheeky bid for McCabe ourselves?

That's what I think too. As I see it, the only weakness we have at the moment is the combination of (1) Toone being absent and (2) Wangerheim not yet hitting her stride, and hopefully both of these problems will be resolved pretty soon.
The only rebuttal I have (and the only reason to consider McCabe or someone of her ilk) is we do still need squad depth, particularly if we want to compete on four fronts. Experienced depth is a good thing too (as demonstrated by Rolfo this season). Our fullbacks are all young (especially if you consider George more centre back cover as she has been this season).
While I agree that is nice to have, McCabe is unlikely to come if she knows she's signing to spend time on the bench. She has the pick of all the clubs around so she'll go where she will start games more often than not. NWSL is probably more likely.

I watched Arsenal beat City today and was really impressed with Arsenal. Slegers started Olivia Smith at the 9, with Russo behind her, and it paid off. Meanwhile, their defense took Shaw, Miedema, and Kerolin completely out of the game; their only attacker who saw a lot of the ball was Hemp, but Emily Fox was having none of it. Also, it was great fun for me (as a USWNT fan) to see Sam Coffey play the second half, during which City seemed to play much better than in the first half.
Anyway, the real reason I'm posting about this match is that, if I understood the commentators correctly, this was something like the 11th or 12 consecutive game in which City have started the exact same XI. Must be nice to not have to play WCL matches, huh? It's a lot easier to maintain a well-oiled machine if you don't have to rotate.

I cannot comment on the game as I did not see it. As for the result I have mixed feelings. I agree with @AmarilloMike that a City win would put them out of sight, but it would also have kept Arsenal behind us when they inevitably win their game in hand against Leicester next week.
Regarding City and their lack of rotation, I'd rather be in our position with WCL games.
I think it was better for us that Arsenal won... For now. With the right results we stay in front of Arsenal and Chelsea and we have less points to catch City. Ralistically I think by the end of the season we'd have been happier with City winning, but you never know
I think for the goal Knaak was shown to have a lack of pace vs. Smith's pace. She also made it too easy because she could have used physicality to block her, or risk giving a foul away to stop her getting into a goalscoring position. City struggled to break down Arsenal. Despite Kerolin's recent form I personally rate Fujino higher and think she was a big miss, at the very least as a sub to come on when it wasnt working.
The reason I think Arsenal beating City was the worst possible result for us is that I thought City were already well out of reach, and I still think so. I don't think I'm being pessimistic; I'm just looking at the arithmetic. We currently trail City by 8 in points and 10 (!) in goal-differential, with 7 games left in the season. That means they would have to drop 9 more points than we do over those 7 games. Obviously we'll have the opportunity to take 3 points off them ourselves, but that still leaves us needing them to drop 6 more points than we do in our remaining 6 games -- and this despite them having the advantage of not having "extra" WCL games sandwiched in-between. I honestly think we have a better chance winning the Champions League than the WSL title. So, I think it best that we just concede the WSL title and focus on the goal of a top-three finish. (Then let's win the WSL next year.)
Oh, and to be clear: I do not envy City for not competing in the WCL; I'd much rather be where we are. I just think that their WCL-less schedule goes a long way toward explaining why it's been easy for them to run away with the league this year.

I watched the match between Spurs and Chelsea last weekend, and was surprised when the camera panned occasionally to Madonna sitting in the stands. It turns out that she has twin (adopted, I think) daughters who are both enrolled in the Tottenham under-14 academy. So, Madonna is a "soccer mom." Try getting your head around that.
Incidentally, I also learned that Madonna is the same age as I am -- 67 -- and I'm not sure what to think about that. I can't decide whether it makes me feel young or if it makes me feel old.

Given that her twin daughters are part of the Spurs u-14 side, and that Madonna is 67, I think it is a safe bet that they are adopted!
