Last match of 2025 and it feels like a strange mix of deja vu, anticlimax and big game. We've made the WSLCup SF three times in six seasons, including Casey Stoney's first two. But we've gone out at the group stage for the past two years.

Spurs then? Well we know what we're up against. They're organised, talented, they know how to score against us and our late comeback against them last Sunday must have hurt. They've had a week to rest and prepare for this one.

United will have to dig into their mental and physical reserves. Spurs will have to get past the emotional hit of the last few minutes from last weekend's match. Hard not to see this as an endurance test as much as a football one.

Joking aside though, if we create half the chances we did on Sunday and manage to be a bit more clinical, we could be out of sight against them. Spurs looked dangerous at points, no doubt, but we should have too much for them…especially after the gut punch of that equalizer and the way they were hanging on at the end. As you say, a test of endurance but keeping focused at the back will be so important too to avoid us switching off and being caught on the break…
 
I still look at the Quarter Finals draw and get angry at how it is so obviously rigged. None of United. City, Arsenal and Chelsea playing each other is an absolute farce. The only thing they got wrong was giving us a home tie - I bet someone got sacked for that. Or is it because three of us were in Europe? I've lost track of all these new formats.

No new injuries from Wednesday.

Jayde Rivière was having a fitness test today so we don't know yet if she's got over the injury she picked up at the end of last weekend's match.

Millie Turner may be ready to play, I'm guessing that means we might see her on the bench on Sunday. Certainly I'm hoping it means that she'll be back in action after Christmas.
 


Finishing the year with a strong line up. Rivière isn’t in the squad, so Blundell makes a start. I think it’s her first since returning? Turner is on the bench, as is Malard.

Gabby George and Leah Galton are missing from the squad today, so I'm guessing they're injured.
 
Good break from Spurs and nice through ball from Martha Thomas. Phallon did well to get to the shot.
 
Poor marking for that free kick, England in acres of space behind our last defenders. Shouldn’t have had that kind of space
 
Ouch. Spurs go one up. We had a chance to clear during the move but failed.

Yes, working fine from the YouTube app on my ageing TV. Not working from the YouTube app on my Sky box.

I hate that multiview thing, so I'm obviously not it's target audience. But this is the first time I've not been able to bypass it on Sky. Very annoying.

It does my head in when I’m streaming elsewhere miss bits of the game I’m tuned in to to watch a goal in another game.

Sky probably being cheeky and trying to force you into the multi view by making the YouTube stream dodgy!
 
Ref was a bit generous with that free kick on Rolfö I’d say. Hopefully we score
 
Some real pinball stuff going on, but Spurs keep surviving it.

The Spurs-supporting co-commentator is annoying me. Making it sound like Spurs are completely dominating, when we’ve hit the crossbar and had another shot at point-blank range that should have gone in as well

I hadn’t noticed anything but spurs have barely been in threatening positions since their goal

Spurs probably have better the better team overall in open play which was the point she was making i think
 
Feels similar to last week but I doubt Spurs will let a 2 goal lead go again so important we get the next one.

That’s been getting on my nerves too.
 
That's a worry. Ella doesn't give in easily and she was already wearing strapping. Hopefully the Christmas break will give her time to recover.

Fingers crossed they decided not to risk it further given the Christmas break. No point turning a 2 week recovery into a 6 week one by causing a tear
 
Rolfö has been a fantastic signing. I didn’t think she fit in our style of play so well at the start of the season but she’s adapted really well and become an important part of the squad
