The Demon League Cup Final 2025

Fins Parkers 20 v 54 Wingin' It

Many congratulations to Wingin' It on their strong performance and victory in The Demon League Cup Final 2025/26.

Commiserations to @Scanny, who at least managed to get to another cup final - something many of us just dream of.

The Demon Pointless Plate Trophy Final

jojojo 33 v 48 Flexo

Flexo wins the wooden spoon! Well done, even though it was a last-minute invented tournament because of his incessant whingeing! ;)

I don't think Flexo really operated in the spirit of the pointless plate there, 48 sounds like something a real manager might get.

Not whinging. Just stating facts.

:D

Would it be too much of a stretch if I were to read the small-print in the competition rules and discover that the winner in the Pointless Plate is actually the one with the fewest points? Hmmmmm ...

There's actually not much to report this week. The high-flyers did well bit Wingin' It (54) and Leah-ding the Pack (52) were the top scorers.

Eight teams have now broken the 400+ barrier, so it is still a healthy competition.

Controversial manager @Grande props up the table, but is now only 102 points behind @AmarilloMike (enjoy your trip to Wolfsburg btw)

I don't know, if you change the result after announcing it then that will surely just lead to an eternal cycle of moaning, wherein both parties are alternately the biggest moaners, and much like city's 188 charges, may well become a saga that never ends?

Pah! That score wouldn't have even won the real cup!
Also, congrats Wingin' it - it is great to be a proven winner!

Hey! I've just clocked this. What do you mean 'incessant whingeing'? I only said I was a bit sad... :(

Well, I think that's all I said, I don't have a great memory. Which is a bonus after this weekend.

I read that as I’m being a controversial manager because I’m jumping ship for the Wolfsburg job, but they never even tapped me up, besides, I would never do that to The Lost Casey (just like I never would do it to The Casey Stoney Knots 1 and 2 (unless a better offer had surfaced)).

But don’t worry, I’m not insulted at all (apart from secretely mulling about being passed over for The Wooden Spoon).

You have to whinge to be in contention for the wooden spoon. You never have ... although I suspect this post is an early applicant for next year's wooden spoon!

Congratulations to Wingin’ It for completely outplaying me in the final.

Just a bump to remind people - team deadline for This week is on Saturday - 11am.

Absolute waste of the wall for me this week, only city kept a clean sheet! Shambles, but Shaw as captain saved me!

I think we're heading into the territory where Shaw will be a must have for any potential winning manager.

Obviously this doesn't affect my planning

I was much better at this game when I didn't remember any of the oppo players' names and picked a squad entirely based on stats + a couple of United players.

Note that the transfer/formation deadline is early this week - that's because Aston Villa play Liverpool on Thursday evening.

This match was postponed earlier in the season following the death of Matt Beard, who managed Liverpool for several years.

On Sunday, these two teams play again. Liverpool play West Ham and Aston Villa play City. That means that some players can get you two lots of points. Do you feel lucky?

Note - this is the last round of WSL matches in 2025. If they stick to last season's format, the winter break will let you sack your entire team and build a new squad from scratch. Or not, because maybe that isn't the plan this year.

Can players end up with negative points? Say if Aston Villa loses 3-2 to Liverpool, and then 6-0 to City, could GK Sabrina D’Angelo get a negative points score?

I had a defender last year whose team conceded a goal and she was sent off. She got a negative points score, so yes.

I feel for you. It's quite funny really though, because I was fuming about it at the time because I had a defender on the bench who scored 9 points and she was not substituted in. Oh, the injustice!

I’ve already learnt to hate it when the bench pulls more points than the rest of the team put together, something United annoyingly contributed significantly to when it happened.

Game Week 11 Review

Nothing to report. Loads of teams did ridiculously well, I didn't. So that's it for now.

I'm thinking of having a mini-league for me, Scanny, Amarillo. Jojojo, Flexo, Grande, Moo and Lobster - so basically the people who post on here! Starts GW12. All teams start from zero points. It won't be an official league, I will just tally up the points. Demon's Anti-Fifa Peace Prize League (which almost sounds like Antifa)

Sadly I suspect even if I started a mini-League of one, containing me and no one else, I'd still lose. Cute idea though :+1:

In terms of the big picture, it's open season. Unlimited transfers. A chance to trash the team and start again, or not

Right now, it would be a brave manager who didn't reserve a big chunk of their budget for Bunny Shaw. So if it's Shaw + 10 others + 4 bench warmers - what does that mean? Where are the other big point earners coming from?

A gamble on Sam Kerr perhaps? She's scarcely been seen outside the WCL so far, but she's delivering in that. If Chelsea go directly to the QFs for example, maybe that means we'll see more of her in the WSL.

Or stick to the form guide and look for value for money? Who knows - certainly not me

I have no idea (other than Shaw, but who is to say she does nothing after Christmas?) but a 50 point gap feels pretty insurmountable at this point!

My team is grindingly annoying no matter what I do this season. I’ll still “suffer” to quote Ruben.

Deadline approaching. Just saying.

Some player news:
Ella Toone is out for "several weeks" :(

Ash Neville has moved from Spurs to Leicester.
Spurs have signed themselves a complete new forward line.

Other news?
