WSL/Subway League Cup 25/26 - United draw Spurs in QF

The draw has been held for the group stage.

A - Forest, Everton, Man City, Newcastle

B - Sheff Utd, Sunderland, Liverpool, Durham

C - Southampton, Brighton, West Ham, Charlton, Portsmouth

D - Palace, Leicester, Ipswich, LC Lionesses

E - Villa, Birmingham, Spurs, Bristol City

So, where are United? We don't know. If we're still in Europe, either in the Women's Champions League or the (new) Women's Europa Cup then we don't take part in the group stage. If we're still in Europe then, like Arsenal and Chelsea, we'll join at the QFs.

If we don't qualify for Europe then we'll join Group A (with City and Everton again) or apparently we could join Group B - I don't know how that's decided, a coin toss maybe?

Given that I'm not even confident about how Europa places get decided (unless it's the one who loses the Q3 match for the WCL place) I'm not even going to try :lol:

I cannot make head or tail of the women’s preseason schedule. I’ll just go with the flow per game and hopefully the women can qualify for some European football whatever it might be.
 
We absolutely must get in to Europe proper this season... But the location collecter in me would love a trip to Nottingham, particularly if it's at the City Ground!

Group A would be ideal for you - potentially the City Ground and/or Goodison.
 
QF draw
The quarter finalists are now known - City, Liverpool, Spurs, Palace, West Ham + United, Arsenal, Chelsea. The winning teams from the League phase + the 3 teams playing in Europe. Draw takes place on Tuesday, QF at the end of December.

Live on Tik Tok - what has this world come to?

The matches are scheduled for 20/21 December. We enter the FA Cup on 16th January. Things are going to get hectic.

Semifinals were drawn at the same time:
Crystal Palace/Arsenal v Man Utd/Tottenham
West Ham/Man City v Liverpool/Chelsea
 
Likely top 4 semis and almost guaranteed top 4 final. It's almost like the draw is rigged... Huge props to Palace for getting this far though!

It is so obviously rigged - it's not even remotely subtle.

I'd like the semis to be Palace v Spurs at Carlisle, and West Ham v Chelsea at Gateshead. The final in Doncaster.

I saw some footage of the draw. At first I didn’t think it was real but apparently it is. Christ almighty women’s football took a giant leap back with this

They used to not show the draw at all. Just kind of phoned it in from somewhere without any cameras. It was probably safer :lol:
 
The draw was obviously a farce that should never happen again but these calls for it to be redone are dumb. It was still a random draw and some clubs are clearly just hoping to get an easier tie if they do it again.

And the level of incompetence displayed actually gives me more confidence that there was nothing actually corrupt happening. The draws for the FA Cup involving shifty looking ex-pros always made me suspect that they would cheat if they could.
