Bunch of United players away on international duty.

Ella Toone had just opened the scoring for England against N.Macedonia. Earps has started the game as well. Looks like shooting practice for England at the moment. Zelem and Staniforth on the bench.

Kirsty Hanson starts for Scotland against Hungary.

Hayley Ladd starts for Wales against Kazakhstan.

Groenen away with Netherlands, they play Czech Republic tonight.

Thorisdottir played her 50th game for Norway last night. Vilde Boe Risa started as well. They beat Armenia 10-0

Ona Batlle got a couple of assists for Spain last night in a 10-0 win against the Faroe Islands.

Not a bad international week for our players. Spain, England, Wales, Scotland, Norway all won (both of) their games. Netherlands drew with the Czech Republic, but won against Iceland.

Hopefully all of them are coming back uninjured and feeling confident. Ready for Chelsea on Sunday.

Another international break and a bunch of United players called up by their squads.

Earps, Staniforth, Zelem, Toone, Russo are all in the England squad.
Hanson is with Scotland.
Batlle with Spain.
Thorisdottir and Boe Risa with Norway.
Hayley Ladd and Carrie Jones with Wales.
Groenen with the Netherlands.

Have I forgotten anyone?

Martha Thomas and Millie Turner are both injured, or they might have been called up as well. Fpr sure though, there won't be a lot of first team players working with Marc Skinner next week.

Lots of United players away with their countries this week.

For England v Austria today at 12:30, Ella Toone and Mary Earps are in the starting 11 with Katie Zelem and Alessia Russo are on the subs bench. Match is at the Stadium of Light - and that area has had gale force winds overnight so may not be a great day for classy football. Match is live on ITV.

Brutal performance by England to beat Latvia 20-0. Earps and Toone started. Ella subbed of at halftime. Zelem and Russo came on in the second half - Alessia scored a hattrick, and so did another 3 England players.

Spain (Ona Batlle started) are beating Scotland 6-0 and Wales (with Ladd and Jones) are losing 1-0 to France.

The womens game needs a second division or something. 20-0? Absolutely ridiculous

64 shots and 31 on target for England (according to BBC Football) against Latvia, madness!

They're world cup qualifiers and Latvia are losing to everyone. There's a massive gap between the full-time pro English League players and the minnows.

That said, England are in a particularly brutal mood at the moment - the new manager has them all playing for their places. Relentless about scoring, even after the contest is over.

I know they are qualifiers, but the women's game tends to have a big disparity between the nations. There are considerable social/economic issues for women's sports across the world, more so than in the men's game that make it difficult for some countries to have anything approximating an elite level team. If I remember correctly, there was a 10-0 game (Brazil?) in the world cup itself a few years back. You would not expect that in the men's tournament, and 20-0 is an absolutely crazy result.

Honestly, it's poor sportsmanship from England, but that is another matter.

Its always easy to spot those who have never posted in womens football threads before.
Yeah, 20-0 does look like a lot, but if Latvia take a couple of quick wickets after lunch it's anybody's game really.
