Be interesting to see who they cast as Wolverine. Can't imagine anyone besides Hugh Jackman in that role.
Samara Weaving looks spot on, not sure about whether she could pull off the aloofnes of Frost. I only know her from scream queen films (which she's always good in)
Apparently Wolverine isn't going to be a part in this universe. Rightly so, imo. His story's been done to death and it's an impossible task to recast him

Seems like a solid cast, and it will be cool to see Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. Bit disappointing that they've gone with the exact same lineup of X-Men from the first Fox movie, minus Hugh Jackman, who it seems they're never ever going to let go of. There's like a million other X-Men characters they could have used, including some we've never seen in live action.

I think you need the core XMen. Maybe there will be others casted. Me who grew up on XMen 97, Fox’s XMen mainly want to see the OGs.
Fox did them well first time. I think they brought them back poorly in XMen Apocalypse with bad casting. Hopefully works out well this time.
Yeah, that's where we differ. The last thing I wanted was a remake of the crappy Fox movies.

X23 is a clone/daughter of Wolverine and a different, well established character.
I don't mean a female with Wolverines powers that exists alongside the real Wolverine, I mean gender swapping James Howlett.
Was expecting Angel and hoping for iceman. Thought it be more the original first class team but seems they're going down the 97 root, which is fine but give me a decent gambit then.

one of those franchises that will be rebooted ad infinitum. And I say this as a fairly big x-men fan.
If it wasn't clear I meant the casual viewer, Ironman worked because although not one of the bigger heroes it wasn't an ensemble film with a well known lore to the mainstream.
XMen has been pretty mainstream since the cartoons and the casual viewers are mainly the ones that make you money so it's clear why they've chosen the characters they have
Feige said this isn’t the whole cast. I’d expect a Beast (rumours they offered it to someone and he pulled out last minute) and possibly an Angel or Iceman. I’d also reckon they’d use Magneto too because he’s up there closer to Wolverine in popularity and probably one of the last “big” villains yet to be in the MCU
I see the logic but somewhat disagree. Iron man worked because iron man worked. Nobody knew guardians but it had the MCU rubber seal of approval on it so people went out and watched regardless.
IMO first class is the best X-Men film and that's full of mutans not really known in the mainstream. Think this cast is fine but it just needs someone we haven't properly seen on the hit screen before, just one or two out of gambit, shadowcat, iceman (he was just plot for rogue in the fox series) or even jubilee. Emma frost is a good decision.
Whilst a joke, that is potentially the route they will go as the rumours are that Dafne Keen's X-23 could be the MCU's Wolverine. She is also 21 so fits the age group and is a well liked character.
I’d be happy if they teased, built up Magneto. Make him a huge villain in a few movies time.

Not so good. But First Class and Days of future past were also great. The latter being one of my favourite ever super hero movies.
Nah, you’ve got it backwards. The very fact that X-Men already has that brand recognition gives Marvel the opportunity to be bold with the line-up, instead of just giving us the same old same old.
And I’m not even talking about characters like Eye-Boy, No-Girl or Beak (although they would all be fecking amazing to see in live action). I’m talking about established, popular X-Men characters like Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Jubilee, Psylocke, etc.
I had an idea for an x man, imagine wolverine but instead of knuckles it was his knob, that would be something, hey?
