Yan Diomande - Linked with Spurs

68m with add ons seems a realistic fee and while a huge markup for Leipzig, one I would be happy to pay. Now that Amorim is gone, we wouldn't be looking at him as LWB but for the LW. However, he doesn't start ahead of Cunha and that seems a high fee for someone to be on the bench. But he's young, multifaceted so he would be great for the long term. I don't think Cunha is in a United team that wins the league but Diomande could certainly be.

Diomande dovetailing with Amad/Mbuemo would be something.

Let's assume Shaw goes back to LB now, we still have Martinez and Heaven for LCB and De Light, Yoro & Maguire for RCB. Do we bring in a LCB who gets in ahead of Martinez? I think the club will go and sign a really good LB now with Shaw's fitness worries & expiring contract plus Dorgu's inexperience mean we need a solid starter in that role.

Agreed on the CMs, that is a non-negotiable for the summer.
I mean I’d be delighted to get him and as for starting ahead of Cunha it depends what happens with Bruno.

We feasibly could have:

Lemmens/Bayindir
Mazraoui/Dalot De Ligt/Yoro Martinez/Heaven Shaw/Dorgu
Anderson/Mainoo Baleba/Ugarte
Mbeumo/Amad Cunha/Mount Diomande/?
Sesko/?

In which case I still want a new LB too and probably we’d be short a CF and another wide player.

I would prefer us to focus on RB by finally selling Dalot and getting in a new young but experienced enough RB to rotate with Mazraoui. Someone like Kayode from Brentford, Jimenez at Bournemouth, or Martim Fernandes at Porto. LB for me can wait a year, unless we're able to get some money for Shaw which I just cant see us getting even with his recent improvement in fitness.

Ornstein said he’s not leaving in January and it’s going to take a big offer for Leipzig to consider selling him in the summer.

He should go to Bayern as it looks like he is suited to the Bundesliga.
No point in him being exposed to the Premier League at such a young age and the hype being smashed!

I wouldn’t advise him to come here. But god is he good.

This makes sense. RBL has a very clear model of player trading and development. They buy young talent, keep them 2-4 seasons, and then sell at the projected peak of their value. Sesko, Szoboszlai, Gvardiol, Nkunku, Konate, Upamecano, Olmo, etc all followed this model. Even Xavi Simons was there two seasons if you include the loan year. There's basically no precedent for them selling a top talent after only one season and certainly not after six months. Leaving this winter is certainly a non-starter, especially with them trying to get back into the CL. I can see them making a partial exception and selling him this summer, but only if a club is willing to pay a massive, massive fee.

Shocking agility and explosiveness

This guy would tear PL defenders apart 1vs1 like they're a bunch of bundesliga farmers

We need to be in for him in the summer. This kind of combination of pace and agility is very rare. Whatever it takes.

Looks very talented but I'm over Bundesliga attackers to be honest. Was willing to stomach Sesko due to the shitiness of the striker market but I'm happy to never sign another one from that league again even if it leads to us missing out on a few good players.

It's almost like we need to give young players time and have a good coach.

With Sesko he's a bit lean, the same with Wirtz at Liverpool.

When players come to the prem they need time to put on muscle IMO and that takes time, technically they're both good enough for the league, give it time.

Haaland was built like a tank when he came in and he was fine.

That patience doesn't work at this club. I'm a Sesko believer by the way, but it's pretty clear that this fanbase will turn on any player that doesn't hit the ground running and eventually destroy them mentally. We don't have the happy clappers of Liverpool's fanbase who will defend their players to the hilt. Nor do we have the media on our side.

If we don't give players time then it'll never work though, we're building a squad and a team. We should be getting top 4 consistently for now that's the goal and in future get challenging.

Diomande I think is almost a no brainer in the summer for us.

We need a good coach appointed before then.

His contract expires in 2030. So it makes sense they won't sell him that easily.
Seems he can become a cracking player, though.

He looked good in La Liga too, but then again, so does Antony..

He looks a special talent, though.

Now that Amorim has gone i think we need go add a LW/LWF into the squad. I’m taking @BenitoSTARR at his word that he’s worth it. Amad can get it done.
I think wherever he ends up he has quality that will excite fans. I think Amad has already been doing the lords work here based on their social media (I hate that I know this).

I’d love him at United but I think it wouldn’t be a good move for him with so much uncertainty. Selfishly though I don’t see a better LW we could buy that could raise the floor and also the ceiling of this side. He is unique and sublime.

This would be very welcome.

Midfield focus in the summer

I think we're desperate for a midfielder, but I also think the team build required would be more sensibly spread over this window and the summer window given that it's a World Cup year. We might also - if this is true - be forced to move if Spurs or similar are trying to get in front.

We are but it depends on availability, and I don't think any of our targets clubs will negotiate in January.

Boom! The very next post after yours

He has 6 goals 2 assists in 6 matches from right wing. He has 1 goal and 0 assists from 7 games on the left

1 goal in 4 for Ivory Coast as left wing as well

Too small a sample size for you to be suggesting what you’re suggesting.

Just trust me. LW or RW you will not find a better winger who would be interested in United.

As much as I'd love to have him, there's no way we'll pay 78m for an attacker this season.

Going to a back four we potentially have Cunha, Mbuemo, Amad, Mount, Lacey, Dorgu....maybe even Gabriel next season and othre to play wide. Considering how short we are in certain areas, though DIomande looks very promising from the admittedly very little I have seen of him......spening money in this position regardless of whether we can or cant get midfield targets January seems crazy to me personally when potentially think we need seven signings

There's no way we're paying 78 million for him, but would very much love to see him here

Where has Amad been playing?

Amad Baleba Fletcher

Lacey Mbeumo Diomande
