That's how I feel about the Rodri situation, and this poor guy hasn't done anything wrong. He is the most expensive signing in the club's history and I haven't even paid much attention to him.
I wonder what qualities or unique traits they saw in him to justify such a huge investment.

He is not an 18 Brazilian signed for 50 million, where you're almost guaranteed to make your money back eventually. That transfer fee is an incredibly heavy burden to carry.

Less than 2 years ago he was playing high school soccer in Florida. Didn't move to Europe until November of 2024. Absolutely insane rise.
 
I haven’t watched him outside of the World Cup where he looked super talented but also super raw. So I have to ask as a Chelsea supporter since they’re both RW’s and both 19 years old, how does he compare to Estevão in terms of level of talent?

It's v silly. The money being paid for players is daft. How can he be valued at double what Citeh' paid for Halaand.

Eliot Anderson, Diomande, Rodgers. Crazy, Crazy, Crazy money.

Lionel Messi is still better than all of them. At 40 years of age.
 
Just don’t see him as a long term Madrid player. They’ll be taking a whopping loss on in him 3 yrs, unless some daft PL team helps them out
 
13 goals and 10 assists at that age would be stunning in the PL.

At the age of 18 Sancho contributed in one season 12 goals and 15 assist in that same league.
