Caught the second half of the U19 game vs Belgium. Sonny Hilton was brilliant, very composed in the middle, able to switch play with both feet, consistently beat the press with a drop of the shoulder or a one touch pass. Very impressed by his performance

Fair to say the kids aren't quite tearing it up like they were a few years ago?

Watching England u21s reminds me of Real Madrid during the original "Galacticos" era.

By far the best players capable of individual brilliance and even quite pretty on the eye for the most part, but also a bit lacking in the team cohesion needed for it to play to its absolute potential.

All four goals scored by players from Chelsea's academy.

You really want to call Nketiah a player from Chelsea's academy?
He was dumped by Chelsea.

Results wise it was probably one of the worst breaks in a while. The 21s 2-2 draw in Slovakia and the 20s 0-3 dfeat to the Czech Republic are probably the low lights.

Hard to estimate what the 21s group will do because you'd expect their best players to getting senior minutes sooner rather than later.

It's hard to say .In 2017 there was a fantastic amount of talent from the 17s - 20s but the stars did align too, we were able to get nearly all our best players in the age groups to the major tournaments. That has proven to be much more difficult since for various reasons and will continue to do so going forward. I think there are still a number of exceptionally high talents across the groups still. With the state of the England senior team a lot of the best players have quicker routes to the first team also so don't hang around in age group international football.

Despite his sending off and being overshadowed by Sterling, Foden had a great game last night, albeit against questionable opposition.

He also topped the running stats.

If he can get a decent amount of first team games then I'm sure he'll be in the England seniors for the Euros.
