Ronaldo
(Huge gap)
Giggs
De Gea
Schmeichel
Rooney

To be fair once you past the top two you could include any of about 10 players

Of every player that I have ever watched live, Ronaldo is just on another level. Like a man among boys and it's a great shame we couldn't hold on to him for longer, he would have smashed every club and league record

Charlton, a Ballon d'Or winner; a man who was a part of both the Busby Babes and the 1968 European Cup winning side; for decades our record-holder in both goals (as a midfielder) and appearances; a perfect gentleman and the personification of United itself, should be in top 5 of every United fan.
Cantona, the catalyst for our 2-decades long domination and officially the coolest to ever exist, should be in top 5 of every United fan.
Giggs, Scholes, Best, Law, Robson, Keane, Beckham etc.

There're no certainties in a list of personal favourites.
My counter Sir Bobby and maybe even Cantina is that this is favourite, not best. Most people here wouldn't have seen Cantina play let alone others before him. It's hard to put them on a list of your favourites if you never saw them - Rooney I feel people would leave out due to primarily that contract saga which left a sour taste in many I think. Mine included but i more often than not felt good he was in the team and gave me some of my favourite moments.

But mine:

Rio
Scholes
Keane
RVN
Rooney

To be honest it's not that I haven't seen him play, I've never even heard of him!

Wouldn't make sense to me to have a player on my list that i never saw live, only highlights from youtube.
This isn't a "who's the best United player ever", it's about favourite players.

Gary Neville 6th, while Keane and Giggs would have probably made the list if they weren't such cocks.

Only have vague memories of Cantona from his last season of 96/97 .
It’s a bit wank to point out As you’ve said that, but I promise you it felt like more of a privilege to watch Eric than it did Ronnie. I wish higher quality highlights existed.

You've missed a point I was making, I'm afraid. The point was not that everyone should put Charlton on their lists, the point was saying that everyone should include a certain player in their top-5 is absurd.

No order:

VAN DER SAR. (what a keeper, often underrated by fans. He's celebration of the penaltys when our whole team ran towards him. Icon)

YORKE & COLE (this comes as a duo, whenever i hear about those two. It's just coolness and happyness all over)

RONALDO (everyone has the right to their own opinion. Imo this is the greatest football player of all time)

BEST (the player with the most natural talent. The Belfast boy)

Thats it. At least for now.

Btw, my phone autocompleted Scholes to Achilles. Kinda apt seeing as they're both demigods.

Ronaldo,
Rooney,
Scholes,
Evra,
Van der Sar.

VdS might be an odd pick but I was born in 95 and grew up during that period of just really struggling to replace Pete. Watching Barthez to VdS and then that penalty save to win the CL, I've never screamed so hard in my life.

Feels bad leaving out Rio/Vida and even Nani as one of my picks for most underrated United players ever.

1. Ruud van Nistelrooy - my favorite player growing up
2. Roy Keane - never really saw him in his pomp but read enough and saw enough old matches to know he was amazing
3. Nemanja Vidic - always prefered the physical style over Rio's silk. Both were great though
4. Patrice Evra - Gave everything while he was here
5. DdG - Until his drop in form he was absolutely amazing.. He saved us a goal per game at least.
