PS1: Final Fantasy VII
PS2: Vice City / PES 2008
PS3: The Last of Us

I haven’t really dedicated that much time to the more recent ones to be honest. PS2 was probably the last console I properly hammered.

I would love a Hogs of War remaster! So funny and genuinely fun to play

Brilliant game. Basically 3D worms.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Megadrive - Shining Force 2
SGenesis - Shining Force 2
Thought I'd be the only one. Played that game way too much as a kid, to the extent that I actually tried writing a novel based on the game. Pulled out the old Megadrive collection on the PC a few months ago just to give it another go.

Megadrive - Shining Force 2

PS1 - Final Fantasy VII
PS2 - GTA San Andreas
PS3 - Battlefield: Bad Company 2

PC - PlanetSide 2

I'm an FPS guy - I loved Black Ops 1 on PS3 and then next generation was Overwatch for me.

Before all the COD's & 007 games I was a fighter and Skater guy - Tony hawk and tekken or street fighter

- PS1: Metal Gear Solid
- PS2: GTA: Vice City
- PS3: The Last of Us
- PS4: Bloodborne

I never owned a Nintendo as a kid but over the years I've played just about enough to do a list on most generations.

- SNES: Final Fantasy VI
- N64: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- GC: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- Wii: Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Switch: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Last but certainly not least, the equivalent eras on the PC:

- 1993 (SNES era): Doom
- 1998 (PS1 era): Half-Life
- 2004 (PS2 era): Half-Life 2
- 2011 (PS3 era): Skyrim
- 2015 (PS4 era): The Witcher 3

Thinking back mid-to-late-90s PC gaming was undoubtedly the greatest era of video gaming ever for me. The list of games I played around that time is ridiculous. Duke Nukem 3D, Age of Empires 1/2, Diablo, Red Alert, Half-Life, SiN, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Tiberian Sun, Populous: The Beginning, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Carmageddon 2, SimCity 3000, Quake 3: Arena, Unreal Tournament, etc. And you include the year 2000, you get the likes of Deus Ex, Diablo 2 and Red Alert 2 as well. What a time!

What a game. I just hope AOE4 is going to be a lot closer to AOE2 than AOE3

There are so many remasters and remakes these days that it hardly seems worth differentiating between the last two generations. I would probably get some wrong because I played a better version on a later console.

It is more relevant to older consoles with more defined differences.

Gameboy: Warioland (Super Mario Land 3)

PS1 : Metal Gear Solid
PS2 : Mortal Kombat Deception
PS3: PES 09 - Would probably be top of my list for every Playstation, but I played this one so much that I do not recall playing anything else on PS3 :D
PS4: Red Dead Redemption
PSP : Need For Speed (can't recall the version - the only driving game I ever completed)

Wii: Super Mario Galaxy
Switch: Super Mario Odyssey

Off topic : PC - Might and Magic VI (not heroes, just might and magic)

Wii U: Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate
Switch: Pokémon Sword (so far)

GBA: Pokémon Emerald
DS: Pokémon Platinum
3DS: Pokémon Y

Never owned an Xbox console, Sega Dreamcast or the PS3/4. I'd chuck Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch in for PS3 though as I have played it on Switch and it was one of the only games I was super interested in that almost made me buy a PS3 back then. Haven't included NES, SNES, MegaDrive or GameBoy as I'm assuming the starting point is the Generation where Sony first came into it...

Lots of Pokémon for me as it's what I spent the most time on, but there were a lot of really good 3DS games I enjoyed as well. Much closer to picking something else on 3DS than I was on GBA and DS for example.

Side note: GameCube is actually the best console and super overlooked.

Great shouts. Bubble Bobble was probably the first game I ever played properly, and I recently redownloaded Cannon Fodder from Gog. Interesting playing it on a 4K screen:D

I got the AOE2 HD refresh not so long ago. I run it for 20 mins and I could fry and egg on my laptop!

PS1: Final Fantasy 7 no expansion needed on this.
PS2: Shadow of The Colossus/MGS Snake Eater
PS3: MGS4/Portal 2/Last of Us
PS4: BloodBourne

XBOX: Ninja Gaiden Black
Xbox 360: Gears Of War Series
XBOX ONE: Ori and the Will of The Wisps

Could expand on them but they speak for themselves.
I missed out Broken Sword 1 & 2 on the PS1 what wonderful games those are!

Final fantasy VII is such an incredible game. I didn't own it originally but borrowed it for 2 weeks.

That had no right to be a ps1 game.

Likewise GTA on PS2.

Just curious, why?

Love the unique "blocky + triangle/diamond shaped" characters and the whole visuals of buildings and all. PS1 fits it. The visuals of characters in FF VIII in comparison is just terrible though.. except during cutscene. FF IX make it a bit better but still look.. ugly. Making a FF X visuals out of FF VII will only meant nothing special about FF VII.. it's like the remake, visually I've seen that kind of visuals everywhere. It's a bit boring visually.

Very special in a way. I think it's the only game I've played to have that kind of visuals and unique shaped characters.
