PS1 - Spider-Man
PS2 - GTA San Andreas
PS3 - The Last of Us
PS4 - Red Dead Redemption 2 / The Last of Us II
One of the best incarnations of the Spider-Man universe ever. I'd say the 90s cartoon was the only thing better, and the orignal two films are just behind.

I wish they'd portray Venom like he was portrayed in the PS1 game and 90s cartoon, too.

PS1: Legend of Legaia

PS2: Final Fantasy X. GTA San Andreas gets an honorable mention.

PS3: TES: Skyrim. Mass Effect 2 gets an honorable mention.

PS4: This was the hardest one to decide between. My top two for the PS4 are Persona 5 and God of War. In terms of how good they are and how much I enjoyed them there’s absolutely nothing between the two, but if I had to choose I would go with Persona 5.

Edit: Didn’t realize we were doing other systems.

Gamecube: Resident Evil 4
GBC: Pokemon Crystal
GBA: Pokemon Red
DS: Pokemon Heartgold
3DS: Pokemon OR
Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles DE

Final fantasy VII is such an incredible game. I didn't own it originally but borrowed it for 2 weeks.

That had no right to be a ps1 game.

Likewise GTA on PS2.
Bizarre statement to make, PS1 was a great console. Original > remake

PS1: Hogs of War
PS2: Vice City
PS3: COD Modern Warfare
PS4: RDR2
Hogs of War was fantastic, i loved that game.

The PS1 seems on reflection to have so many great games, I'm guessing if I replayed them now I'd find they weren't all that.

Jade Cacoon was a game i loved that i feel like no one else ever played.

Hard choice between that and Metroid Prime as well. I do hope they make a Switch remake of that game.

Just curious, why?

Love the unique "blocky + triangle/diamond shaped" characters and the whole visuals of buildings and all. PS1 fits it. The visuals of characters in FF VIII in comparison is just terrible though.. except during cutscene. FF IX make it a bit better but still look.. ugly. Making a FF X visuals out of FF VII will only meant nothing special about FF VII.. it's like the remake, visually I've seen that kind of visuals everywhere. It's a bit boring visually.

Very special in a way. I think it's the only game I've played to have that kind of visuals and unique shaped characters.
In my head it's at least a ps2 game. Graphics are compatible to other PS2 games in my head

Dirty exclusives only:

PS1 Crash Bandicoot
PS2 Shadow of the Colossus
PS3 Demon's Souls
PS4 The Last Guardian
PSVR Untill Dawn: Rush of Blood
Wiiu Super Mario Maker

The limited console landscape says little about the larger gaming cornucopia on offer over the corresponding years. Consoles are playpens.

I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
Nintendo 64 - Mario Kart
PS2 - Gran Turismo (Special mention to Ace Combat 5 and GTA SA).
PS3 - Uncharted 2 (arguably GOAT game) (honourable mention to GTA IV, Red Dead and Sleeping Dogs)
PS4 - Well feck me.... For PS4 there's so many great games over different periods of time, each showing significant development of the console....
Early PS4 (2013-15) - Metal Gear Solid 5.... just the most incredible game only let down by its incompleteness
Mid PS4 (2016-2018) - Uncharted 4 (seriously go back and play this game again) (closely followed by Red Dead 2)
Late PS4 (2019-2020) - Ghosts of Tsushima - has its flaws but I haven't quite played a game I didn't want to end as much as that one... in a long time. Sure its repetitive and there's not a whole lot to do outside of story missions and side quests, but the combat is just stunning.

PS4: Still a few games in my backlog to clear before I can answer this definitively (TLOU2, FFVII Remake, Uncharted 4), but as of right now it's RDR2...though I'm only 8 or 9 hours into that, too.

I agree actually. I played it for a few hours when it first came out and wasn't gripped by the combat so put it aside. Then I heard all these amazing things about the story so picked it back up and ended up loving it.

Seems very much a game that lives/dies by how much you enjoy the narrative.

Hmmm. I should try again. I remember the save feature screwed me up a few times, can't remember the issue but think I'll give it another go.
