Your Hidden Gems or under the radar - Wanted Signings

He looks very good but he's that bit pricey (£34mn asking price) for a player in the Belgian league that I'm not sure I can see us taking the risk. We just can't afford a miss with our next midfielder even if he could turn out to have enormous upside. The league undoubtedly produces great players but I also remember Charles de Ketelaere looking incredibly dominant in Belgium before ending up a total flop after moving to Milan and don't think United would take that risk even if we'd like them too.

Could totally see Brentford replacing Norgaard with him though and him being brilliant.

Fair enough, I can't say he is a can't miss prospect but if you look at his profile, crazily similar to Vitinha. He could be that kind of player for us. He could pair well with Ugarte and Mainoo. CKD has now come good at Atalanta though, so can't say he has failed to step up from Belgian league.

I agree that we can miss with our next midfielder, we really need someone who is either going to be a mainstay in the midfield and can partner Ugarte or Mainoo. I also feel we lack a ground eater in the midfield, someone who eats space when on the ball and can carry the ball upfield for 20 yards and more. Those are the kind of profiles we should be looking at, you see all the top midfields have one of those now.

The two profiles we lack in our midfield is a controlling midfielder like a Vitinha/Jashari and then a ground eater type player. If we get Jashari now then next season try go for Baleba or someone similar, it would be a good strategy. Alternatively, go for someone like Djaoui Cisse or Amadou Kone in this window then look at Ayyoub Bouaddi next year.

Jashari would be a dream. Could also be a good season to introduce him, without European football and with Casemiro still being around to rotate.

Amadou Kone's been mentioned on here quite a bit, looks like he's joining Saudi side Neom.

Yeah, CDK has come good but I think it highlighted that there's a bit of a step up from the Belgian league to Serie A, never mind the PL. Not that I don't think Jashari could be excellent - definitely haven't seen him enough to make that call but he does really remind me of Vitinha. I'd love all those players you mentioned. Djaoui Cisse had a great U21 tournament and looks like he'd do a job for us now although part of me is still hoping that the magic money tree comes up trump and we just go balls out for Baleba as I think he'd be the real game changer for us in terms of making our midfield be competitive with anyone elses.

Yeah that definitely sounds like a good strategy, the question is do we need a controlling CM right now or more of that athletic CM who covers every blade

Jashari does both. He's that good in my opinion. He runs a LOT, always tracking back and has that killer pass.

Footballer of the year as elected by his peers. He'll become a beast imo. Whoever signs him will have a great player on their hands.

Anyone here watched the U21 tournament? That Cisse kid for France looks promising, could be one to look at for the future

Jesus Rodriguez for Betis looks decent. Performed quite well for Spain in the u21 tournament

Just have to hope Milan won't get this over the line whilst we are still trying to sell/loan front four

I think if we are going with Bruno in the midfield, then an athletic CM makes sense now. He can cover the gaps when Bruno goes upfield and still defend lots of space

Yeah plenty of shouts for him in this thread already. Actually a fair few decent and young midfield options on the market at all price points so would be disappointing if we don't get someone decent.

Extremely disappointing news if true. He’s 19 and doesn’t need to make this move this early in his career.
Moral issues aside, it might be a good idea. Spend your development years (probably not well remunerated in France) making mega money in SA before coming back to a champions league team just in time for your peak years having sanded down your rough edges. I know a lot can go wrong but the standard is probably high enough judging by the CWC that you don't hinder your development too much. It will be interesting to see how Gabri Veiga's career goes now he's back in Europe at 23. Jhon Duran to a lesser extent too.

Only the German games, if you have questions about one of our players I could help

I've seen highlights of Woltemada, he can move, you think he fits Amorim's system?
I believe he could. With his mix of playmaking and striking ability he could be an option both for the #9 as well as for the double #10. But looks like he already agreed terms with Bayern, so might be off the market already (if Bayern and Stuttgart agree on a fee, apparently they are wide apart right now)

I’m convinced there was a report the other day that Vivel and Wilcox really like Anderson from Forest. Well he’s absolutely dominating this U21’s final. Might be pursuing.

Maybe I've not watched him enough, but I genuinely see very little difference between him and Zirkzee tonight.

Yeah would love to sign him, presume that Forest will be looking to make at least £20m profit

I don't think he's going to go from Sausi league to a champions league club in 3 years time. More like he joins a mid-sized club and proves himself again. There haven't been any players to my recollection who have gone from Saudi to one of the elite clubs.

Look at Veiga, goes to Porto instead of one of the elite clubs after being highly touted as a youngster. Kone would probably do similar if he moves to Saudi now.

I see some rumors that Forrest are about to sign Fofana from Lyon. This is a very good signing by them as I was very impressed in his brief cameo against us. I admit but I haven't watched very much of him but I thought he oozed a level of quality despite his young age.

So, well done Forrest, and thanks for nothing United Scouting Department. Maybe we can try to sign him in a few years at five times the price.

Barco, left back who can also play inside, 20yo, costs about 10m.

He's just been bought by Strasbourg yesterday after spending the last 6 months on loan there. He only played at CM for Strasbourg, in a double pivot with Andrey Santos and was excellent, I think he can become a top CM. Being at Strasbourg, Chelsea will have priority but CM is their most stacked position with Caicedo, Fernandez and Lavia so they might not want/need him.

I like that he went to smaller teams to adapt better to european football. Young players from america seldom do well on the PL, but now with some seasons on his back I think he could be good.

He played 5 games as left wingback as well, but yes hes always looked like he has enough quality to play in the middle

He isnt hidden, but I wonder if we can follow the Obi and Heaven signings with Nwaneri?

With Arsenal signing attackers which might block his progress, our current status could be a used to offer WC potential a clear path to first team.

Seriously.. Quinten Timber! One year contract left.. Stock is low as he ended the season in an injury and because of the length of his contract.. But the guy is absolute quality!

They just buy Brighton players.
It's ex City players too that their director of recruitment Joe Shields worked with in the past; Palmer, Lavia, Delap, Sancho, Gittens.

Did the same thing when he was at Southampton with Lavia, Bazuna, Larios and Edozie.

I think it was only going to be possible before his pro contract. they'd want a ridiculous fee now.
