But I could have easily traded Matip for Dias, Rodri for Fabinho or Cancelo for Robertson.

Basically a City/Liverpool 10 + Son.

Tough to keep Rice out, but Bernardo was the best player on the pitch in the late season draw against Liverpool which mattered a ton for the title. Both teams probably finish worse if you swap them so that's not particularly helpful. Agree on the CBs, I thought Liverpool's had more to do than City's and did their jobs well.

Maybe a shout for Ivan Toney too. Obviously not the player Mane is, but he won everything in the air for a team that needed it.

Not sure how attackers line up but all of them deserve to be in the 11. Maybe B Silva as CM and KdB as false 9.

I think this season contained a watershed moment where some of them graduated from best player(s) of the half-decade to bona fide All-Time Premier League squad (or even Starting XI) candidates...
  • Salah: 3 x Golden Boots (a record for wide attackers), while boasting the best ratio after Henry, Agüero and Kane.
  • De Bruyne: the most consistently incisive offensive passer in league history; phenomenal footballer.
  • van Dijk: cemented himself with goliaths like Ferdinand, Vidić, Terry and Stam. Nuff said.
  • Robertson: arguably the best leftback after Cole (sorry Irwin and Evra), while trailing only Baines for assists (in roughly half as many games).
  • Alexander-Arnold: not as good of a year as you would think, but continued his run as a difference-making rightback from a playmaking standpoint.

Lots of TAA inclusions. I have unfortunately watched a lot of Liverpool in the last couple of months and he is always their weak link. Every team gets all of their joy against Liverpool by attacking down the left wing. TAA is often out of position, easily beaten, and - although he gets a fair few assists - he gives the ball away an incredible amount. If he was playing with worse centre backs, he would be horribly exposed.

Allison

James - Van Dijk - White - Cancelo

Rice
De Bruyne - Silva

Bowen - Mane - Son

It might be harsh leaving Salah out, but I’ve only really watched Liverpool in the second half of the season and he’s been terrible in a lot of games. I could perhaps include him purely on the amount of G and A he got in the first half of the season.

I'd agree with this but swap Dias for Matip. I agree regarding TAA/Robertson. Robertson is the new Irwin in that he's pretty much a guaranteed 7/10 every single game, you know exactly what you're getting with him.

Kinda cheating not picking a striker but I don’t think there’s been a particularly outstanding striker this season.

interested to see peoples teams minus City and Liverpool
Son/Kane/Ronaldo up front. If you don't like Kane, then maybe Saka
Rice is an automatic lock. So is Reece.
Ramsdale at keeper probably

That's 6 out of 11 I can think of.

Edit: Rudiger should be in. That Dejan bloke hasn't been half bad for Spurs.

Made a few changes overall. Mane has better stats this season than I thought.

Honorable mentions:

Ederson, Ramsdale at keeper
TAA, Walker at RB
Matip, Dias, Laporte, Rudiger at CB
Robertson at LB
Fabinho, Rodri, Thiago, Soucek, Gallagher at CM
Kane, Mahrez, Dejan, Ronaldo as Forwards

This is about right. Rodri and Rice are close and you could have Cancelo on the left and TAA on the right.
