You're suddenly DOF, who we signing?

Can't believe the number of mentions Camavinga gets! Totally overrated player.
I still believe he can find his best form here provided he can overcome injuries, very easy to get lost at Real with all of their star names which just wouldn't happen here.

I see a version of this leaking into multiple threads so thought it might be good to have a place to discuss it from the point we are at now.

Just to paint a scenario, let's say we have £80m left to spend this summer.

Let's assume we aren't going to be able to really boost significantly with sales. What would you do if you were suddenly put in charge?

Hall - £65m
Robinson - £35m
Williams - £40m
Kone - £44m
Berge - £40m
Baleba - £70m
Scott - £80m
Adams - £35m
Bouddi - £70m
Tchouameni - £80m
Watkins - £40m

If you want to boost it with sales then please be fairly conservative in valuations and potential to actually get them done because it seems hard for us to do currently.

Amass - £6m
Vitek £10m
Zirkzee £5m loan fee

Feel free to add any players not listed of course, just try and be as close to the reported fees or at least as realistic as possible.
Buy Watkins + Berge with 80M
Sell Vitek and loan Zirkzee, and with the 15M income from those, loan a decent LB with an option to buy

I think this is a really good answer to keep us in the Champions League for the next 2 seasons and put us in a more solid position financially.

Not sure who the left back could be but I like the idea.

We need a left back. This summer.

We are hoping to play 50-55 games next season. We currently have ONE senior left back, and he has a history of fragility and is also past his prime physically. Mazraoui and Dalot should third-choice, needs-must options at left-back and one or both of them will always be needed at right-back.

It would be negligence to not sign a left back this summer.

Who would you target as alternative to Hall?

Thank you.

I am also not sure who can be the loaned LB. It is probably self-evident that Newcastle won't loan Hall, even with obligation to buy. Not sure if Fulham would do loan-to-buy for Antonee Robinson, but I would take him if they did. Otherwise, would hope Vivell could find us somebody decent in that budget

Would still need to move Rashford to go for Watkins, although much like Zirkzee will be a loan

For sure.

I am not sure I would have been talented enough DOF to move somebody like Rashford  but I wholeheartedly agree it is a good idea :)

We need to replace Casa’s ~10 goals (especially the set piece threat). That doesn’t even include the 10-15 additional goals we’ll need for an actual title charge.

We are still not a great defensive side. A DM or CB could solve both.

Well he managed to find Lammens, so just maybe can unearth someone at LB on that kind of loan deal proposed

A proper DOF would have never let that Toy Story puppet ever give Rashford £325k a week in first place

Yes. He seems like the real deal, possibly the best person we have in the management role. I wonder if Wilcox listens to him enough.

You won't like the suggestion but Berge provides that height, however maybe not same aerial threat as Casemiro. The only way we move for a CB is if becomes apparent De Ligt return will be longer than expected.

Lammens was our goalkeeper's Scout Tony Coton's recommendation he was not somebody who Vivell found or recommended .

Wilcox would be better served finding those potential academy gems like Heaven and maybe Thompson

We are in a tricky situation now because we have the numbers so when do we stop raising the floor and start smashing the ceiling? I think its now thats why transfers have gone quiet because the players we really need are the top level ones. Is there any point getting another LB that wont take Shaws place like Malacia? Do we really need another young prospect in midfield like Lewis Skelly? Or is what we really need is players that can take us to another level. I think the latter.

First choice Left Back - Hall
First Choice left CB - Shlotterbeck?
First Choice Midfielder - Touchemeni
Striker - This is the one area where we can get a rotational players like Watkins/Mateta

These should be our targets for the end of the window. Now we sit and wait and see if those players are at all gettable. But what if they are not? Do we just go and get numbers or do we sit for a year and wait for that level of player to become available?

Next year we also need to look at -
Right back - People may not like Dalot and Mazroui but are there really other right backs that are much better? Who? When one becomes available then yes lets snap them up
Bruno - Dudes getting old. We will need to start future planning for a replacement. Maybe its Cunha?
Right CB - Maguire will be 34. Then it depends on the De Ligt situation and if Yoro steps up. If not need a first choice right CB
LW - Its a weird situation with Cunha who is class but not really a LW and Dorgu who similarly we dont know if he is a LW or a LB. Rashford as well. We have numbers but will someone step up and claim it or do we need a proper LW.
Striker - Will Sesko step up or not. Might need to re-visit if he's not ready.

Actually yeah you are right, in which case he actually still has much to prove in finding players

Schlotterbeck got bad injury in the World Cup

Buy:
James Garner
Lewis Hall

Sell:
Lisandro Martinez
Joshua Zirkzee

Make Garner the first choice RB (like the reverse evolution of Phillip Lahm) whose job it is to jump into midfield to protect the CBs whenever needed. Both he and Hall can attack/defend/cross which should give us massive tactical flexibility in all phases of play, and shore up the physicality of the middle third which everyone seems to be so worried about. Obviously, both full-backs are also experienced actually playing in CM which should help in case of an injury crisis.

All the transfers are doable imho. Garner would also help with maintaining the record of having an Academy graduate in the every first team squad.

--------------------------------Lammens
----------------------------------Darlow

Dalot-----Mazraoui/MDL------Heaven-----------Shaw
Garner--------Yoro------------------Maguire-----------Hall

-------------------Mainoo----------Tielemans
--------------------Santos------------Mount

---Amad----------------------Lacey---------------------Dorgu
---Mbuemo-----------------Bruno---------------------Cunha

--------------------------------Rashford
----------------------------------Sesko

The centre of defence is still a bit lacking in pace and the attack is still a bit lacking in x-factor, but that can be addressed next year when Maguire/Rashford leave.

I give it all back to the Glazers and ask them for a pay rise as it will be much cheaper.
