Blackburn 1 - 0 Man United HT

A scoreline completely out of step with the actual game that United have dominated from about 15 mins onwards, with Josh King missing the clearest chance when he really should have scored.

The pitch is tricky to play on and the more skilful players have struggled a bit when trying to run with the ball and there have been some odd bounces, and hard to keep their feet at times.

The goal resulted from a corner that shouldn't have been awarded as their striker went for an aerial challenge with Devlin with no real attempt to play the ball and with his arms raised that at most levels of football would result in a free kick. United understandably aggrieved.

Wootton puts a free header at the far post just wide of the upright, should have got it on target. United starting on the front foot again, Blackburn setting up camp in their half.

Pogba fires just over after some good work from Ajose.

Sub: Etzaz Hussain on for Petrucci. He looks like he has a knock, I assume Hussain to the left, King up front.

Blackburn come close with a header from a free kick. Devlin comes out into no mans land, the Blackburn player gets a header in and Devlin throws up his right hand and makes a slightly fortunate reaction save.

Glazers Out
we really don't have good defenders, especially fullbacks, that's the problem

He’ll play upon, Your naturalistic intuitions…
I just don't see how getting embroiled in Blackburn's long ball, run around like a headless chicken, diving in to tackles, type of game, is in any way to our advantage? They're not a good football side, at all, but we allow teams to unsettle us by not sticking to what youth football should be about.

And, of course, how this is supposed to be preparation for top level football is a mystery, because it certainly isn't conducive to producing technically gifted players, that's for sure. And if you don't think that is at least part of the reason that we have such a poor record in producing players of the very highest quality, I have to respectfully disagree.
