We are currently linked to Jeremy Monga of Leicester, a 16 year old left winger.

With 35 appearances for Leicester already you'd have to see Monga as a first team signing. Wouldn't say he is ready for that yet but clearly he's not going to be giving up regular first team minutes for a season or two of U21s so would presumably head out on loan.

I think City are favourites to sign him anyway. There was some talk a while back that they gave Leicester favourable terms for Divine Mukasa's loan to help facilitate a move.

Was at the Leicester Swansea game, Mukasa is going to be some player. Ball is absolutely glued to his feet, needs a bit more confidence and it was his shite freekick that set off their counter, but was very impressed with him.

Monga looked very bright when he came on, but he's no where near ready for our first team, he'd be going straight out on loan. I suspect it would be the same for any team that signs him.

Monga has signed a pre contract with us for when he turns 17 so who ever buys him won't get him for buttons like we lost Nyoni.

you can see the talent but he's not ready for a move yet IMO

Probably bullshit*t. But anyone have any idea about this lad?
I mentioned him on the left winger thread. he looks amazing. maybe even better than Estevao. But I bet he ends up at Barcelona/Real Madrid

With Leicester facing relegation to League 1 the opportunity surely is too good to miss on Jeremy Monga. £12-5 million and loan back for a year to get one of the best English prospects would be a good bit of business. Even if he doesnt quite kick on you'd think we be able to get that back

Agree. Both Manchester clubs fancy him but he seems to prefer Barca if they can finance the move.

Rumours today we're signing him for £6m plus bonuses

Monga looks good on the highlight reels, similar kind of energy as Ngumoha. I wouldn't mind it at all

He looks fantastic.

Ambidextrous, strong, good dribbler, nice technique, keeps the ball in tight spaces.

Even playing against senior level player at 15/16, he's very impressive regardless of the level. Against grown men I'm seeing him consistently trapping the ball with a nice first touch, holding off his opponent, turning them and dribbling the ball into danger.

If we pull this one off then brill!

Yeah he looks really talented. Would be yet more quality technical ability added to the likes of Lacey and JJ and Thwaites coming through.

I actually would be more interested in Page. Watching Monga live, I think he's got the potential, but lacks the real explosiveness right now to have the impact in the prem. One for the future for sure. Page has that ability to keep the ball under pressure that you rarely see at his age against the brutes of the championship.

Page is definitely more ready but neither should move this summer they would both benefit more from a full season as a first choice first team player rather than disappearing for years back into u21 football as neither are ready to play prem or European football

Definitely, I think a loan would be preferable for both if we were to sign them. I'm not sure they'll see (or their agents) league 1 is necessarily the best play to develop, but chasing game time should be paramount.
