Youth transfers and rumours thread.

United have been after him in the past but visa issues got in the way. He was even in our emerging talent programme I believe.
So far we're linked with Camden Schaper and Vincent Joseph. Unless I missed anyone else?
Hardy and Emsden-James were the only signings we made this season for the youth, hopefully we can maybe add a bit more this time around.

Take it with a pinch of salt ofcourse, but one of biggest Liverpool youth's account saying that Joseph is coming to us. Tallies well with rumors that he's visited twice to OT in recent months.

Great news. One of the best in his age group.

This guy seems very well informed, he said in the replies of the post that this deal didn't happen due to Chelsea getting an academy transfer ban.

That is confirmed now today.

Chelsea getting an academy transfer ban for the summer is good for us, usually they along with City take out all the good talents.

Kid looks really talented too

Ty Livesey from Blackburn is another one we should be looking at.

This one is getting more and more traction. He can still move to Germany btw.

WAYNE ROONEY helped convince a Manchester United youngster to switch to their academy from Liverpool’s earlier this season.

There’s this line from Luckhurst article, although he doesn’t name the youngster. Anyone has any idea who he’s talking about?

I imagine it's someone in one of the younger age groups. I know someone who joined this summer used to be at Liverpool but I believe he was released by them. Although he's in the same age group as one of Rooney's kids so possible it's him.

Jodie Nganga used to be at Liverpool so maybe it’s him.

That was a while back, he's been with us for a number of years.
Ah alright.

Then it must be at u13 level or something. Hoping it’s an amazing talent ofcourse.

Would it be that gun striker we are trying to get off them?

There was talk of investment in academy transfers when ineos came in, laurie whitwell of Athletic also said something about increased focus on recruitment at u16 and u19 level. Havent seen much of it, we failed to get noubisse and ridgeon last year. We did manage to get Heaven and chido. It still feels like we lack at this level as compared to chelsea and City. Pool dont seem to sign many as well, but have done well with a few, ngumoah has been a success for them.

Not been very active so far under Ineos, let's what happens this summer with Connor Hunter replacing Fedorenko as head of recruitment, also Torpey would have had enough time to see what needs to be done. I don't know why the club doesn't have certain profiles at every age group, like a left footed winger in every age group for instance, Brown, Lusale, Douka are all right footed players playing on the right wing, the chance of them getting promoted to the 1st team in that position is as good as zero, should stop putting square pegs in round holes, this sort of thing should be fixed with transfers.

Yeah we really shouldn't have a window like last summer where practically added no-one for the u18 squad. There's a completely new setup in academy and this is the chance for them to make a good impression in their first window.

There's no point of adding for the sake of it though. It would send an awful message to the academy if there is a continuous cycle of players coming through getting released at 16 only to be replaced by a signing from another club, particularly if those signings aren't needle movers. Our record is really patchy when it comes to making these kind of signings.

I imagine the club identify the top talent in that year group and will move for them if they can but if they can't they have to ask the question if the next level down are worth a transfer fee and elevated wages compared to what they already have.

We tried and lost out for Ridgeon and Noubisse, inspite of both of them visiting Carrington last summer. I get your point but I do think this team can do with some additions.

They do look a bit short right now but it is a young u18 group which in some ways looks a deliberate plan to let a few younger ones through.

I personally think money is better invested at the age we signed Heaven. I think there is a year or so in there where it becomes more evident who could break through before the value explodes.

The u16s won the PL shield and won the PL Cup back to back the two years prior. It is clearly one of the best in the country, we don’t need loads of signings unless they are actually top class, often they aren’t. We’ve also already got three u15s in the u18s and there is an u14 that I wouldn’t be surprised to see involved next season. There is 14 u16s signing scholars by the sounds of it.

Saw lots of depth and transfer discourse after the weekend and it completely misses the goal of youth development. We were missing about 15 eligible players, any team would struggle with that. We shouldn’t be signing depth u18s players for the sake of playing once or twice a year when we have a depleted squad. Trophies are meaningless, and thankfully as a club we don’t hamper player’s development for the sake of an u18s title.

I personally think with Kukonki’s promotion, we lack a Lb, RW and CF in this group.

I also don’t see the harm of us strengthening
when clubs of similar or smaller stature are making improvements in their academy recruitment wise.

The best players usually want to play with the best players . I am pretty sure everyone in their age groups know who the best are, if they do join united, you are only creating a better team and better enviornemnt for these kids to train with the best. City keep signing players at this level, chelsea have the best location advantage that they take the best players from.
We should be doing everything to sign the best in the country, specially when squad has some apparent weaknesses. I think this is a big summer for torpey and co, he has been at city and been involved in making such signings, he also has been at brentford who now have Cat-1 status , although he was there for 1-1.5 years only.

Looks like Darlington Osuchukwu is leaving the club & going to Spain. Big talent, real shame.

That has been rumored before hasn’t it?

That’s a shame. Good talent.

Would be quite suprised if he left Palace but absolutely oustanding keeper.

He was amazing in both games against our u-18 and he is only 15. Everyone is talking about JJ, but this is just as good, maybe even more for a goalie to achieve this
