So, after the excitement of the the Ashes success, now for the slightly less important business of the T20 series.

To be honest, it not really my cup of tea and doesn't compare to Test matches, but I suppose if it gets the youngsters interested in cricket...

Just 2 games, is it games or matches when it comes to T20? These are being played at a 'sensible' time for UK viewers, except that most will be on the way to or at work when the games/matches are on, pity there isn't one at the weekend . This is a contrast to the ODIs which start in the middle of the night, or very early in the morning anyway, for UK viewers.

Here is the schedule:

Wednesday, 12 January 2011
International Twenty20 Series
Australia v England, Adelaide, 08:35

Friday, 14 January 2011
International Twenty20 Series
Australia v England, Melbourne, 08:35

I would have thought as world champions we should walk this, but its a very different discipline which involves controlled slogging which may be quite exciting but its doesn't have the purity of Test cricket.

What would Geoff say...

C'mon England lets beat the Aussies at this discipline too!

I'll watch it as beating the Aussies at any form of Cricket is humorous.

But i'm not arsed.

not nearly enough runs on the board...David Hussey killed the innings.

You can't bat for 27 deliveries in this format, and get only 28 runs.

Australia 157/4 off 20 overs...should be gettable.

Is anyone actually interested in T20?
I kinda like it. Sometimes I get bored watching England bat in Test matches, but T20 is much more enjoyable.

Plus we're really good at it. :D

Good to see Brett Lee out there again...

England win, formats change, players change, but at least for this summer, Results don't.

I played against Woakes in an under 19 game about a year and a half back.

He got 50 and took 4 wickets including me for 7 :(

you dont get 'used to bowling again' in internationals, let alone 20 20 games where you only have 4.
You can get back into rhythm. feck me, we let Mitchell Johnson do it all summer. He'll stay in the squad and he'll get better the more he bowls. He's always been slightly erratic but he'll get there. Bit more wind and both he and Lee would have been fearsome.

All 3 of our pacers are crap, they have no accuracy. Johnson at least adds a bit of batting.

If watson can put it on the spot our 3 specialist quicks should be able to.

Mate its 20 twenty, get a bit of perspective. They should have been two down by the end of the 2nd over and god knows how the game would have gone.

If it were a big loss in a ODI I'd be worried but to lose by 1 run in hit and giggle is laughable to whine about. Wait till Sunday before passing the axe on two coming back into form quicks.

twenty twenty is becoming a major facit (fasset? Facet? Facsit?) of cricket so there is not much we can do about it. If there is somethign to be won we should be going out and winning it, especially when we cant win anything else at this pont. Having 6 wickets in hand and only 150 on the board is laughable as well. Especially when our hit and run batting runs deep.
