    Typical blood and thunder .

I haven't seen one like that for awhile.

Dea Gaea or whatever his name is saved youse again. I cant remember too many United chances.

Ibramathingies header gave us a giggle.

Oh well. The best team drew .

Came and played for a point and got it. Defense and midfield (at least defensively) did well but all thanks goes to De Gea for winning us that point.

Just a shame our attacking play is so incredibly bad at times. Seems like the main plan going forward today was to get the ball out wide and hope the winger can beat 2-3 players by himself without support and create a chance all on his own.

    I'll take that, disciplined performance.

It's a decent result at anfield when were still gelling. Theyve been playing well lately and we kept them quiet.

Zlatan, pogba and rashford were disappointing, but they didn't get much room from Liverpool if we're honest and the ref was an absolute thundercnut.

Felt zlatan seemed isolated alot, pogba playing further up was stupid, Herrera or Mata excel in that role, that said, Herrera was immense today where he played. Probably him and de gea got us the result.

I'd have probably had Mata on for pogba at 70mins.

Do the people that are complaining about the game think it's just the best 11 players you can put out going hell for leather against each other?

Football is all about tactics and today Mourinho got it spot on. A point away to the big teams will always be a good result and takes us into next weekend in a much better place than if we'd lost that.

Then what the feck are you on about?

Herrera had an excellent game and he said it was possibly one of the best performances he'd seen from him. Nothing remotely controversial about that opinion.

    yeah good result.

I would have liked we went for the kill at some point, maybe Mata in for Pogba the last 20 minutes to improve our chances at the counters with his passing but feck it, i guess Mou wanted to play it safe and build from here.

Mou looks a bid depressed too...

Not sure why its an emoji laugh worthy unless you haven't seen him play LB before. He usually gets on the ball a lot more and practically plays as a left sided DM for most part.
The reason for the laughing emoji is that there are at least 4-5 players that you expected to impose themselves on the game and didn't, before you come to Blind. Not sure how you expected him to do this when he was organising the defence and defending for the majority of the game, and also had the task of keeping Mane quiet, which he did very well. Can't really expect much more from him, even if he is at LB.

Don't be such a baby. Team under construction. Liverpool free scoring this season, and we did what we had to. Good point.
Course I'm happy with the point. Still always hate not winning against the scouse. And also detest the deferential tone of some, like we should be sooooo happy we didn't get hammered.

We needed a win badly tonight as we have been poor lately. A draw would be ok normally but our performance was dire going forward and Liverpool deserved to win this as they had the better chances. I got to be honest i don´t think we are getting top 4 this season as our attack is too average and wont get us enough goals.
Deserve to win? Did they feck. Its not like we fluked a result. We defended brilliantly and that counts for something. We could have scored as well. The way we fought for every challenge it would have been harsh on us to lose that.

You can check my post history if you want as it will show i´m not wumming at all. I just don´t see us getting the points needed for top 4 when our attackers out wide don´t offer much going forward and we look disjointed in general when we attack because of this.

    Pre-match quote:

That's an ankle-grabbing XI if ever I saw one.
Fellaini is dead weight, a ball and chain to hamper the worlds most expensive player. No need, we don't need height anymore. He isn't mobile at all & will be overrun with ease. Red card in waiting.
Young starting for the first time this season? He'll put a shift in but Jesus wept.
No Mkhitaryan or Martial and yet Rojo makes the bench? This is car crash stuff.
    Dreading this now.

Yes you restricted Liverpool's attack to zero goals but remember, this Liverpool defence has conceded in EVERY SINGLE premier league game bar tonight

I'd say it's not a fair result, but a good result for United. If not for 2 out of this world saves from De Gea, Liverpool would've won this.

The problem for Mourinho is not that he made a 0-0 vs Liverpool, because a point there is good for United, but that it is very difficult to go super defensive against very good teams in the league, and just play offensive all of a sudden when you meet teams where one point is just a poor result. You can't just switch it on like that when you want to. His United is not a team that plays defensive by choice, but a team that plays defensive because the quality going forward is not there. And he seems uninterested in developing it. Or at least try to. I thought United is in a phase of rebuilding. How is it rebuilding being happy after a 0-0 in which you had one clear chance all game?

    Poor overall game imo.

Several times a control touch for zlatan or pobga would have us in for a chance to score. Other then 2 Liverpool shots they were average and we dropped 2 points IMO. We need to win at Chelsea full stop

Tired players made the last 10-15 minutes uneventful. Liverpool dropped two points, there's no getting around that.

I'd take that against bleeding Barca. Not Klopp's scousers.
Exactly. The standards have fallen so low that some people on here think our outfield aside from Herrera did well. De Gea saved our asses again ultimately. I just can't delude myself into thinking this is a good point as we look absolutely shite yet again this season.

To be fair, i think its more tactics than ability. I guess Mou wants to build from the back, and release our attacking talent when the defensive part is locked down.
Lets just hope they have some confidence left at that point...

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!

Apologies if you're genuine but after that performance I thought your comments were a bit "wummy" for want of a better word. You are entitled to your opinion and sorry if I was OOO!
You do realise this was a one-off match with our available forces employed in a tactical masterclass to nullify 'pools pressing game. Ibra missed a header he'd normally get but other than that … I'll take the point and Jose has learned a bit more about this squad! Move on!

Personally the first save was better. the second save should be saved with a premier league keeper as long as he is positioned well and David was.

Humiliating and embarrassing to go to Liverpool and play like that. We should be going there to play them off the park and score 10 against them.

Unfortunately it was an acknowledgment that they are better than us, a draw was and is a good result at Anfield and pragmatism is our watchword. I understand it, I even approve of it. But I don't have to like it..

That might be a bit hyperbolic but it's still not exactly controversial statement. It was a very tense game that required a great deal of concentration for the entire 90 minutes, and Herrera was excellent throughout, and fully deserved the Man of the Match award.

Your counter to his statement that it was an awful game of football, which whilst true from an entertainment standpoint, both teams did very well defensively and in the midfield, with Herrera being the standout amongst them. A game not being very entertaining doesn't mean that an individual player can't have a standout performance.

To be honest I wouldn't mind if he got a "break". Gives us a chance to freshen it up upfront. He's a bit meh recently.

The first was better, because he barely saw it. Saved it only by pure reflex, prime Coupet style. The 2nd was top class also imo, this is the type of shot from Coutinho that I've seen in the net several times. Other PL keeper except maybe 2-3 others and this would've been the best goal this round.

Sorry I just made an observation that the game was woeful. I didn't realise id need to also add some sort of 'evidence' that Herrera's performance was not one of the best ever seen on a football pitch as I thought everyone would know that was nonsense. He played well but let's not get ridiculous.
