Ashley Young deserves to be captain. From being almost hated on here by many, he's one who cares about the fans. Just follow him on twitter and instagram and it shows that he's just a down to earth guy so happy to be playing for United and knows how to behave outside football as a United player.

    Well done, Ash!
    Agree.

Actually not sure who else could be captain. Herrera or DDG? The others either can't speak good enough English or are a bit young and immature.

What, the same Lingard from Manchester who helped us win the FA and League cup? He deserves to be in that team more than the likes of Martial. Maybe you should feck off.
They are both bang average and none of the teams above us in the league would take them for free.

That line up is mourinho giving up on 4th place and placing all his eggs in the Europa league.

Herrera and Fellaini starting at base of midfield with Pogba and Lingard behind Rashford. Could be a 5-2-2-1. #mufc

Got a feeling something special is going to happen after nearly snapping my laptop in half seeing that team news.

And Martial didn't with his last minute goal? Martial is having a shocking season but Lingard is average full stop.

Whenever we start a relatively weak team, the team surprise us with a good performance. Whenever we're all happy with the lineup, we usually flatter to deceive. For that reason, I'm quietly optimistic. I expect a draw.

I don't see why it shouldn't work, it's a good defensive lineup with a lot of hard workers and good mix between youth and experience.
Away from home absolutely. At Old Trafford it feels a bit conservative leaving the likes of Ibra, Mhki and Martial out (although the latter shouldn't be starting in his current form anyway) while Fellaini and Young get in. That being said we have to realistic about what this team can achieve in it's current shape.

To be fair, we've played strong teams (strongest) in most our previous games and we always draw. Maybe, it's a time for a change?

Warm up was the usual repertoire of high, wide and straight at the keeper. Need some decent finishing today.

I actually dont get the hatred towards Lingard on here. Always wants the ball... young... confident and had obvious talent. Could really develop given time and freedom.

I think Mourinho doesn't believe we have a chance to match them regardless of being at home, and I tend to agree.

Indeed. I've been a staunch Mourinho defender but no Shaw,Mkhi or Martial is wrong. He wants Martial out, no doubt.
No. Martial has actually been shit this season and he was shit in his last game when he came on. So when you're playing shit then the manager cannot rely on you so players who are more reliable are given your place.

We've spent upwards of 500m on 19 players in post Moyes era. 4 being free transfers/loan. That's more than 30 million spent per player for whom we had to pay a fee, and this is the lineup we come up with

Not being risked or he is a risk?
Fielding him is a risk. Like Fellaini. The wording of "not being risked" is laughable if it's in the context of making sure he stays fit. He's a player who is desperate to play, numerous times played with knocks and we're not saving him for any games.

I'm happy with the line up. Top 4 is gone, it just isn't going to happen, we need to focus on the Europa League.

And as for Ashley Young being captain, delighted for him. He's not gotten enough praise over the last few years in my opinion. I know he has only been a bit-part player but he's been a really good servant for us.

    I predict a 1-1 draw.
