Starting to look like favorites. The super power United are supposed to be, steamrolling the oppo. Great stuff.

When Swansea forced to take risks and leave spaces for us to exploit everything became much easier.

The good thing is that we're finally creating chances, good chances, via our transition plays which was a big issue last season.

On the other hand, behind the rather flashy and fluttering scoreline, when the spaces aren't there (and we have to create them) and both Mkhitaryan & Pogba and constantly being closed down, we still struggle to raise the tempo and find the right combinations between the lines.

But the greatest thing of all is that we have a settled starting lineup, understandable and logical strategies and every player seems to know his role on the pitch. And after the Moyes debacle, LvG's experimentation in both system and personnel and Mourinho's -get to know the team- first season this brings a great sense of relief and makes me hope that the best is yet to come.
Good post.

Just to add this: our aerial threat is now a big added weapon. When it was 0-0 and Swansea was defending so well, I knew we could unlock their defence through a set piece and our aerial threat.

Unlike last season when we almost always relied on unlocking defences by playing through them, now we have the alternative of out muscling them in the air and giving them problems in their box. It makes us a whole lot more dangerous.

Those 3 minutes were magical. Lukaku is the best finisher we've had since Ronaldo, Pogba is growing on his role and Martial should start. Another 2 assists from Mhiky was great to see too.

Martial's celebration. Sulky last week to "feck yeah I'm the man" today. Not to seem like a wannabe body language expert but loved that, looked confident.
Jose publicly praised and endorsed him. He scored his second league goal in two games. He was certainly 'high'.

Finally it's shaping up as a classic Mourinho team.

Strong defense, unbeatable defensive destroyer with a good eye for the forward pass/run, a massive lethal number 9, pace, power, the ability to break teams in seconds.

This could well be our 06/07 ish catalyst to an era of pure dominance.

Think Mourinho will be pleased by the score but we we dreadful at defending set pieces. Also, we were a bit toothless trying to create anything substantiap before Swansea moved up the pitch to try an attack more.

Overall a nice victory, Lukaku as lethal as we hoped but there are some things from last season which have not changed. Still early days.

It was like a boxing match. We keep punching into the stomach and eventually the body blows take it's toll. Then we go for the knockdown

First half was OK but for 20 minutes after half time we looked clueless and Swansea could have equalized I just wished we were more ruthless.

It was frustrating to say the least. But Swansea had a plan and it worked. After the first goal i was expecting them to come out in the second half with more gusto but they continued to play their game, 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 to strangle the game. They only came alive in the final 10 in hopes to nick a draw but we punished them.

I was really impressed with us. Last season we could have started to panic after only being 1 goal up and probably go on to draw. I didnt think the same today. Frustrating game but we were well worth the win.

What a second half performance...defensively were great bar a few chances from Swans....Miki lost the ball way too much in this match but he did come back with two assists....dare I say this team is somewhat looking the United of old? Mourinho has them motivated and running at full stride right now.

Very misleading result, if you ask me. It's nice the team can punish the other team when they're chasing, but we were hanging there for most of the game, not even creating that much chances.

Shout out to Rashford....Ive been critical of him but it seems that he has worked on beating players...its certainly showing.

Because we are still having trouble breaking down teams who park the bus.

Really? Okay it wasnt TOTAL domination but Jose's GIF sums it up very nicely :)

Four-nil flattered us a little, we dominated possession but they defended really well until the change in system.

Having said that we're far more clinical and the likes of Mhki and Pogba are already racking up the numbers in terms of assists and goals.

Lukaku showed it doesn't matter how quiet he is he can score with a single chance.

I think it's easy to forget this was an away game against a team with a game plan - even at 0-1 they had everyone behind the ball for long periods. As time went on, they became less and less organised and we capitalised.

A well-disciplined performance rewarded by a complete cave-in once they realised it was over. Don't think it was misleading at all really.

The quality of the counters in the second half was really of the highest quality. The interchanges between Mkhi, Lukaku, Pogba, Rash and Martial was a joy. Being great at that part of the game still means we need to find that first goal against packed defences which is what we mostly face. However, it also means that we can really punish teams in a way we haven't been able to for a long time.

Shades of 06/07. Rhythm and confidence is key. We will face much tougher teams but it's a good sign that we have been clinical so far.

We will have tons of games like this where we don't play well at all for large periods of the game.

The difference is that last season this game would have ended 1 - 1.

Fecking tripe, had us on the back foot for a lot of the game and we were luckily we didn't concede. The 4-0 is papering over the cracks.. sack mou and sell Martial
Bite you feckers! For the first time in what feels like ages we're watching a proper united side

Fellaini comes on. 3 goals in 5 minutes. Coincidence?
Martial come on at the same time scoring as well.I think Martial has show his effort and produce result. He does not deserve to be just the last 15min guys.

That's how we do it. Different game last 20, once Swansea changed to a back 4 and stopped having 11 behind the ball, we had so much space. Mihki came into his own in the segment once more.

Rashford worked his arse off, think the crowd and early tackles not given to him first half got into his head a bit.

Lovely finish by Lukaku in a game where he got in that position very little - Martial stretched them again as soon as he came on. Great options we have now. Solid at the back yet again with Jones and Bailly reading the game well. All adds up.

Great result but the scoreline flattered us. We really struggled to create for most of the game.
Martial deserves a start over Rashford.

Fellaini started off the move for the second goal. After that second goal we relaxed and moved up a gear. Fellaini was fundamental to todays win. Jose is no mug and clearly sees a role for him.

Pogbas finish was top class, not easy from that angle to clip it so delicately. Can't recall who against but I'm sure he scored another one very similar to that last season.
