If Mbappe is worth 160 million pounds, then Rashford is worth at least 100 million pounds.
He's not.

No-one would pay 100m for Rashford, everyone was lining up for Mbappe.

Lets' not over-rated Rashford.

So Rashford is worth more than Lukaku and Morata? Mbappe is a grossly overpriced transfer for sure as its so much based on hope. Same with Dembele. Its amazing that you now spend more on hope than the finished article. There seems to be no consideration for the risk that a prospect carries. Its just "this player shows signs of greatness" (irrespective of what period), he now costs more than established guys.

You totally missed my point.

I was not referring to whatever you and I think are the true values of the players. Just saying that in whatever market where 160 million is paid for Mbappe, Rashford will not come cheap (because he is almost as good, almost as young, and equally showing incredible prospects).

Everybody would be after Rashford if he played at a selling club imo. Asensio is in the same boat.
Theres a reason why there's noises in Spain about Madrid and Barca keeping tabs on Rashford and it's not because people overrate him

Interesting thing.

I was reading a Phil Jones interview a few days ago where he said Rashford was such a good TWO - FOOTED player.

I was really surprised to read that. Is he really two footed? Jones should know though.

If he is, then what a talent we have there and why shouldn't he be able to play from the right?
You're overestimating Jones, he thinks "two-footed" is used in the literal sense. He's not talking skills, he just wants us to know that Rashford physically has two feet.

I don't think he meant like that. Being able to short pass with your left foot doesn't mean you can finish with it or pick out crosses.

Besides, Jones is shite with both feet so everyone must look two footed to him.

I think even as a predominantly right footed player, I think he can play well 'from' the right. He probably has a better shooting technique with his laces than the inside of his foot anyway, he's scored quite a few goals from inside right. Martial certainly has a better finish with the inside of the foot, and is more suited to the left.

People like Bale are also very good right side or left side, and I personally don't think it has to be as restrictive as is made out. Sané had a great spell last season, scoring a number of goals, as a left footer playing left-side too. I believe Sanchez plays right side too.

Personally, from what I've seen, I think he plays just as well either side, and the right side also gives the added advantage of using his brilliant whipped crosses. A striker like Lukaku needs this, he is far from the level of just being able to excel off of quick short passing. He needs crosses of the calibre Rashford can provide.

The work of Valencia will help, and I see no reason why Rashford can't operate slightly inside right.

Do you know why they were not lining up for Rashford? Because there was no point doing so. United Academy graduate; 19 year old superstar in the making playing regularly for Manchester United, a club with a global reputation of breeding stars from its academy and not selling them once they are convinced the player will rise to the top.

If Rashford had been a Monaco or Dortmund player in this current incredibly insane transfer market, he would have been worth nothing less than a hundred million bucks. Unless of course you can convince me that Mbappe, Dembele, Alli, Asensio, etc, would have cost less or unless you can convince me that Rashford is not in that category of elite under 20/21 players that every manager, scout and pundit has tipped to be among the world's next super stars in the next few years.

Hope and promise of greatness will always cost more than a confirmed 'good', and rightly so in my opinion, unless we're talking about 14 year olds or something.

Lukaku and Morata were pre-Neymar

The world has changed since then. Lemar is £80m, Mbappe £160m, Dembele £120m or whatever. The market went insane.
these were last minute deals. I believe it will return to normality. None of these players are near Neymars value (realistically) so its cheeky to ask this figure.
Mbappe was bought by same club that bought Neymar. They have their own market. Dembele was a result of desperation and Neymar. apparently Lemar could of gone for less a few weeks earlier but Arsenal got desperate

No one on Earth would spend 100million on an attacking player who bagged 5 goals in his league and 1 assist. Its just unfeasbile. Obviously clubs would look at things like this before throwing dollars at players

Liverpool spent 40 Million on a player who scored 9 goals in 7 years, yeah 100 Million is unfeasible but big fee isn't.

But the same folks are happy to spend 160 million on a one season wonder who starred for Monaco? It doesn't add up.

The reality is that transfer markets are as much about subjective opinions as stats.

You cannot base everything on goals and assists otherwise Pogba (and most of the rest of our team), based on last season is not worth the money we spent on him.

On the contrary, I think people underrate Rashford. There is no way, he should not be listed among the top 10 young (under 20/21) emerging stars in world football today. No way.

At 19, the kid is playing regularly for one of the world's elite clubs and playing an important role in his national team. Read what Ronaldinho, Scholes, Xavi, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Jose etc have said and are saying about the kid. They are not 'hyping'.

What their true value should be is a different subject but to say that in a market where Mbappe goes for 160 million, Rashford should go for less than half that amount, is stretching it.

I dont rate narcus that highly. I see him slightly better than Danny welbeck, who runs and dribbles but is awful in shooting. Marcus is definitely not awful but he has lot of scope to improve. Specially his shooting.

On the other hand anthony martial is some one I think is very special and i rate him very highly. Martial in Barcelona team would be such a perfect fit. He is shy and timid like messi, but talented, quick feet, good dribble and close control of the ball. I wish we can play martial up top along with lukaku.

Not that I think hes worth it at all, but you guys are having a laugh if you don't think any other English club trying to buy Rashford would have to give us at least 100mil for it to happen.

Get in with the program. Everyone in Real Madrid squad is full of potential if not already world class. Even if they are 21 years old having scored 20 odd goals in their entire senior career. While our own 19 year old who has scored in every single debut and perhaps equal number of senior goals isn't apparently even in the same potential bracket.

It's crazy how overrated he is on here. He was poor for most of last season and only ended up with five league goals. He's nowhere near Mbappe, Dembele, Martial et al.
It's cringey at this stage. The same ''striker'' that cannot finish a 1 on 1. He can put in a good shift but he'll never reach world class level IMO.

To be fair, Mbappé scored 29 goals or whatever it was as an 18 year old. His projections therefore present a different question. The question with Rashford is 'will he be able to develop into a 29 goal striker', whereas with Mbappé, it is 'will he continue to be a 29 goal striker'. In the case of Mbappé, there is already tangible evidence that he can do it, with Rashford, we are hoping for the unseen.

I think, provided you are satisfied with the hunger and attitude of Mbappé, which by all accounts, is first-class, at least on the pitch - then you would expect him to continue, and perhaps even better, what he's already done.

Mbappé is the best young striker I think I've seen since R9 and Owen. I strongly doubt he'd fail. With Rashford, the conversation is still a lot of 'when he adds x or y to his game, he'll be this and that'. With Mbappé, it's already there to a very top level, and you would imagine it can get better.

Mbappe rattled goals in in the champions league knock out stages, and scored about 30 or so for Monaco.

Rashford isn't on his level. Nowhere but a United forum would suggest he is.

I don't think Welbeck has scored anywhere close to Rashford's tally on a per-season or per-90 basis.

Much as I think Mbappé is brilliant I don't actually think he's all that great a finisher just yet. Playing up front in a free flowing team in the French league certainly didn't hurt his goal stats last year. He's marginally better than Rashford at most things. Only clear difference for me is he's a lot stronger atm. Hopefully Rashford still has plenty of filling out to come.

Being fecking brilliant is what didn't hurt his stats. List all the best teams from the last decade who played the most attractive football and dominated and you will struggle to find many young forwards who could do what he did.

I think he's a very composed finisher personally, and generally, his choices give him the edge over Rashford. There definitely isn't a million miles between them I agree, but Mbappé has a more polished game. Rashford will catch up at some point you will hope.

I reckon Rashford would currently be worth about £80m in today's market. Nearly half of Mbappe.

Rashford played predominantly as a winger last season and hence less goals.
You also have to factor in if you swapped Rashford with Mbappe last season who's to say Rashford wouldn't have scored 15+ goals in that Monaco team as a starting striker. To suggest otherwise would be silly IMO

Can't imagine most people are saying that. Just if Mbappe is worth 180m Euros, then Rashford is worth around 100m.

Mbappe scored a lot. All credits to him. I am a massive fan of his and like you, I do think he has talent that can potentially grow to R9 level. Some have taken me up on this a few times but time will tell.

For the records, on the evidences available at this moment, I think Mbappe is a bigger talent than Marcus but there is no doubt in my mind that Rashford is very underrated by many and 'unfairly' assessed when compared to the rest of the new generation of young emerging talents in world football.

Without taking away anything from him, the reality is that Mbappe has had only one super season playing for a Monaco team brimming with talent and on the ascendency. Meanwhile, Rashford emerged in a more or less unbalanced, struggling United team just beginning to find its feet and lacking in confidence. It is no coincidence that Rashford is announcing himself well this season when the team is stronger, more confident and capable of winning. My money is on him to blow teams away this season.

Do I think he should be worth the same as Mbappe yet? No. But I believe the gap between them is not as wide as saying Rashford should be worth less than half of what Mbappe is worth.

He is not far behind the three top young players I think are ahead of him: Asensio, Mbappe and Dembele. With the kind of work ethics I hear he has, it's a matter of this season before we start seeing that he can be as good as any of them.

Mbappe can actually shoot/finish and strike a ball properly. Where as Rashford struggles with that. Other than that there isn't much between them.

World's Elite club? we are Europa Champions not Champions League champions. We finished 6th last time out. I don't expect Rashford to play regularly in an actual elite club, one that can compete strongly in the champions league. If he does and we do, then fair play.

The pressure and scrutiny that comes with United is what's being referenced here and in that context we certainly are one of the world's elite clubs even though the results on the pitch in recent years haven't been up to such standards. We know that certain players have the ability to handle the scope of that and other can't. From what we've seen of Rashford so far at such a young age it seems he has the mentality to accept and rise to the challenge.

Obviously he needs to produce more end product consistently as he progresses in his career to show he's the real deal. A goal and an assist in 3 PL matches thus far this season isn't a bad start to that end.
