Shaka Zulu - We Are Growing (by Margaret Singana):
Really, if you haven't heard it, have a listen. Shaka Zulu was a South African series in the eighties, roughly based on the life of Shaka, the Napoleon of Southern Africa.
Although it has been criticised (for not showing British punishments while showing Zulu punishments, for example) it stands up very well and the theme song is extraordinary, as was the performance by Henry Cele as Shaka. Cele was first famous as a football player.
Hear the children, hear the children
They are talking to you
Hear the wind blow, hear the wind blow
It is blowing for you
See the grass grow, see the grass grow
It whispers his name
See the fire blow, see the fire blow
His heart's in the flame
Bayete, Inkosi
Bayete, Inkosi
Bayete, Inkosi
Bayete, Inkosi
We are growing
Growing higher and higher
We are growing
Growing higher and higher

Also, and I don't know if this counts,
Asterix est là (by Plastic Bertrand)
It's from Asterix and Caesar's Gift but I seem to have a memory of it being used as the theme for the Asterix films being shown as a TV series when I was young. Maybe I'm mixing memories? Anyway, it's a great theme.
