Amazing how Wenger didn't see that one as it was on the "other side of the pitch" but he saw Sol/Ole clearly enough.

BTW Livvie it appears Gillespie's business trip has been extended by a few days. Purely a coincidence, I'm sure.

Livvie, now I've gone into the United forum, I know what you are talking about. TBH, I've never liked Gillespie and that just confirms my view.

Keown didn't go down like a sniper shot him (unlike OGS).The difference in this case which makes (fairly or unfairly)Arsenal feel aggrieved is that Sol's connection genuinely looked unintentional (and I was there). His suspension means he will miss the FA Cup final. Is it expecting too much for OGS to say something? Even if he believed it was deliberate,I'd think most Arsenal players would accept that.At least Keown responded to Capello's accusations.

True.

He should come out and say the truth that Campbell deliberately elbowed him in the face.
And deserves to banned for four matches.

And what did Keown say? That he made a meal of it?

So as long as Ole comes out and says it was deliberate from Campbell, that's OK? Well I hope he does that soon then.

I thought you'd try and whitewash it because it's one of your players - and how big are you Gillespie? I'd like to see how quickly you'd go down if someone a hell of a lot bulkier than you swung an arm in your direction.

OK Livvie. You're pretty decent on here.Tell me how you saw it.
a)Did you think it was intentional?
b)Did you think OGS made a meal out of it to get Sol sent off?
and c)If you think it wasn't intentional, would you have given only a yellow, for at best, reckless use of the arm?

Do you think Sol deserves a 4 match ban and miss out on the rest of the season? Tell me what you think.

How the hell does Ole know of it was intentional? Only one person knows that and it's Campbell.

As for the punishment - it's violent conduct and it's a red card. Reminds me of Liverpool fans saying Hyypia should not have been sent off against us because we already got a penalty anyway.

Well, thats nice, but the laws of the game claim otherwise.

As for the four match ban, it's three for violent conduct and one extra for being his second sending off. So why not?

I don't think he intended to hurt Ole - I don't think any player would deliberately do that, but I do think it was careless and therefore dangerous. Looking at it from the linesman's angle, I would definitely have sent him off.

I can't say Ole didn't make a meal of it any moe than you can say he did - but Sol is a big bloke, and Ole isn't - if he caught him with his arm at speed, it's going to hurt - and the pictures show that he made contact.

If you see shots of Ole afterwards, you can see his nose was affected - and these are off the ball shots, so he wouldn't have known the cameras were on him.

I don't think there was maliciousness, but it was reckless. By the laws of the game, he had to be penalised. Is there a yellow-card option for use of an elbow, intentional or otherwise?

I've seen players sent off for unintentional handling of the ball in the penalty area - next time you get one of those decisions, will you accept it happily?

I suppose it all comes down to consistency.Would you have sent RVN off therefore for his bloodying the nose of Legwinsky?I can't see any difference in either action. But RVN didn't get sent off and he was allowed to score when Fulham clearly felt aggrieved that a free kick at least should have been awarded.

If any player, from whichever team, is guilty of breaching the rules, they have to take the consequences.

Doesn't mean I'm not grateful if our players "get away with it".

What is Chatteris?
Campbell chose to raise his arm. Not Ole. Only Campbell knows whether it ws intentional or not.

I guess the club's position is that it is a matter for the referee and the authorities. The hype will continue whether Ole says or doesn't say anything - Wenger will see to that. So I think 'no comment' is the best course..until something else comes along to distract the media.

That´s because OGS was touched and Keown wasn´t.

Of course. Fight for justice and so on. Can you explain to me why the donkey wearing 23 turned around to see if anyone was behing him before he smashed his arm into Ole´s face?

Poor Sol. Should´ve maybe thought about the consequences of smashing his arm into an opponents´ face.

Who the hell do you think you are? Ordering Ole to speak out? Why? The pictures speak for themselves.

As I was at the game,I've only seen the TV replay of the Sol incident.I haven't seen the goals other than at full speed from the main camera angle which doesn't show the offside evidence.

I don't think it was deliberate, I just don't think Sol's that kind of player...

However what goes around comes around, every player knows the rules, remember that game at Old Trafford when a Newcastle player was clean through?...

Ole brought him down very cynically and was rightly sent off, but Ole knew he was going and was actually walking off before the card...

I'm not saying that Sol knew (or even should have known) that he was going to be sent off but he surely knew that his elbow had made contact with Ole (intentionally or not) and must therefore have suspected it might be viewed harshly...

These things tend to even themselves out over a season, don't forget the help that Arsenal got off the referee in the semi-final...

So stop crying all you Arsenal fans, you're not top of the league any more for a reason... :D ...

I don't forget how all the others in the team just stopped up, to watch that Newcastle-player (who??) get a free run... the next thing you see, is Ole making a fabolous sprint... he could actually have got the ball, couldn't he?? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

You did not see whether the goals were offside or not, but you definitely saw the Sol/Ole incident which happened in a fraction of a second. So you did not see the replays. You are making yourself a bigger and bigger twat everytime you try to reply. BTW Henry should come out and ask FA to cancel his first goal as it was not intentional.

I've just seen the Sol/Ole incident at least another six times from different angles on Canal+ and nothing will change my mind now. Four match ban for violent conduct end of as far as i'm concerned.

The goals have been on countless times.
