Really looking forward to the weekend. Assuming we do the business against Brighton in the afternoon on Saturday, we can sit back and watch Arse and Chelsk slug it out in the later kickoff. But I'm really torn as to what result I want.
I want Arsenal to get hammered because with City coming up that could put them out the picture by Feb and, well their fans just deserve it and their meltdowns are just a glorious thing to behold. Coupled with Mislintat rumoured to be leaving, the Ozil saga, fans getting tetchy with Emery already and their lack of activity in the January window, it's just a great time to be an Arsenal onlooker right now.
But then again an Arsenal victory would put us 3 points behind Chelsea. We would then have to hope that City beat them to give us that 3 point cushion between 5th and 6th. To be within striking distance of 4th spot after just 6 games would be fecking incredible.
A draw would be a longer term benefit as both Arsenal and Chelsea are not really convincing in a lot of games so more dropped points are inevitable. Both teams dropping 2 points on Saturday though would be a big boost to United's top 4 aspirations.
Whatever the result, it's a win for United. We just have to beat Brighton first but it would be typical of us to get a dumb result in a nailed on game like this.
What do you guys think? I'm really torn right now. I guess it's better to have a 2-way battle for 4th so the sooner Arsenal are out the picture the better but equally any chance to make up ground on Chelsea should be taken.
Perhaps @Damien could add a poll?
